Position type: Full Time (including overnight shifts) Location: Waurn Ponds (Geelong) Laboratory Apply before: 18/02/2020 Description A qualified Medical Scientist is required to join our laboratory in Waurn Ponds at the Epworth Hospital. This laboratory performs testing within the disciplines of Haematology, Immunohaematology and Biochemistry, servicing the needs of the hospital 24 hours/day, 7 days per week. Position Requirements: Significant experience (more than 5 years) in a diagnostic laboratory with Australian industry experience specifically Haematology and Blood Banking is essential The ability to work as part of a busy team and unsupervised when required Excellent problem solving skills Understanding of and commitment to OH&S Knowledge of quality assurance systems and scientific instrumentation/equipment. In addition to addressing the position requirements, please include the following: Confirmation of your current residency and right to work in Australia Notice period required to commence employment. This is a full time position (38 hrs per week) – working rotating shifts Monday – Sunday, including overnight shifts. Part time applicants will also be considered. Applicants must have a degree in Medical Laboratory Science from an AIMS accredited university or Graduate Membership of AIMS (MAIMS).
