Abstract Are you interested in e-learning tools? Do you enjoy exploring new technologies? Are you good at graphic and/or web design? The Haptic Intelligence department of the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems (MPI-IS) is currently developing an online teaching module on force-feedback haptic devices. From simple knobs to robotic arms with a dozen degrees of freedom, force-feedback haptic technology enables people to touch and feel objects in virtual or remote environments. The educational module will consist of a series of short videos and interactive assignments presenting haptic devices and use cases. We are looking for a motivated student with skills and interest in video creation and editing and/or web design to help develop the audiovisual blocks of the e-learning module and make them attractive and efficient for the learners. Knowledge of haptics is not required. Description We are looking for: Student assistant (m/f/d) Volume of employment: max. 83 hours a month Starting as soon as possible Your tasks: Filming and editing the educational videos (interviews, filmed interactions with the haptic devices) Helping with visual design of the assigments Creating a website for the project to include the videos, interactive assignments, and user comments This hourly paid student assistant position will allow the student to gain hands-on experience with graphics and multimedia content design and website creation as well as be exposed to ongoing human-computer interaction and haptics research.
