Who are we? At Masabi, we are helping to make cities better places to live, work and visit, by enabling seamless, frictionless journeys on public transport systems. We are a SaaS company, developing a fare collection and ticketing platform that allows commuters to buy and present tickets for public transport on their mobile phones or travel simply by tapping a bank card. Proving ourselves as true innovators and industry leaders, we launched the Justride SDK - a first for public transit - allowing urban mobility providers, such as journey planners (Transit) and bike and ride-sharing services (Uber), to integrate our market-leading mobile ticketing platform into their applications, connecting services together for a seamless user experience. Justride is deployed in cities around the globe, including New York, London, Boston, Las Vegas, The Hague, Los Angeles, Sydney, Bucharest and many more with an exciting industry-first SDK deployment with Uber in Denver enabling the purchase of public transport tickets right within the Uber application. The Role As a Server-Side Automation Engineer you will be embedded into one of back-end services teams to bring new ideas and help build on our existing test frameworks to ensure the quality of the product and success of every release as part of that team. Although initially beginning in our payments team, you will have the opportunity to work across a variety of applications and services as part of a wider automation team and company initiative. We follow agile principles, which means we regularly ship updates to our customers and are constantly looking for ways to do that more regularly, more efficiently and to the highest of standards. Our Platform All our backend services are cloud-hosted in AWS and are deployed across many regions to meet our customer demands. Scalability is important to us, with a lot of our traffic coming in bursts, so ensuring we can withstand the load of a busy commute is important. We have a large collection of both internal and externally facing API’s that make up the platform and power both our own mobile apps as well as our SDK partners. Being a payments platform, security is of the utmost importance and we are a Level 1 PCI certified platform. The ideal candidate will have… Experience with Java, or a degree in computer science or related field. Solid knowledge in testing microservices and api testing in general. Experience with performance and load testing. Experience with Linux and bash scripting. Experience with CI/CD and configuring build and deploy jobs. Familiarity with agile methodologies such as SCRUM and KANBAN. Experience working in cross-functional development teams. Understanding of (and the ability to explain) the benefits of Behaviour Driven Development (BDD). An ability to visualise and communicate ideas on how to continuously improve and evolve our test strategies.
