POSITION SUMMARY The Law Enforcement Instructor will provide Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA)-Lackland’s Navy Security Force (NSF) Law Enforcement Specialist (LES) Course instructors with Law Enforcement Training Instructional Support in San Antonio, TX. The Training Instructors services are required by the Center for Security Forces (CENSECFOR) and will be performed at the CENSEFOR Learning Site Naval Technical Training Center (NTTC) Lackland, JBSA. This full-time position is contingent upon contract award. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The Law Enforcement Instructor will provide formalized instruction to NSF personnel using the CENSEFOR provided curriculum that supports the NSF LES Course of Instruction (COI). The curriculum topics include: Orientation-Master-at-Arms Course Introduction Military Law-Authority to Search; Patrol Officer Liability; Report Writing Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC)-driver training on EVOC range & qualification course. Patrol Officer Fundamentals-Arrest and Apprehension; Foot and Vehicle Patrols; Misdemeanor and Felony Response challenges; Routine Patrol Responsibilities; Traffic Management; DUI Detection Response. Law Enforcement-Crime Scene and Evidence preservation control; Interview and Interrogations techniques. Incident Management-First Responder Responsibilities, in the areas of barricade/hostage incidents, domestic violence, child abuse, drug and alcohol incidents, burglary/larceny/theft, crimes in progress response, hate crimes, human trafficking, alarm response, and medical emergencies to culminate in a final graded exercise. REQUIREMENTS: Must have completed one of the small arms instructor courses in paragraph 11 of OPNAVINST (Small Arms Training and Qualifications). Instructors must have been a certified federal or state law enforcement officer with a minimum of (5) years operation patrol experience with a civilian or military law enforcement agency. Have no record of misconduct, arrest, or convictions while serving as a law enforcement officer. Qualified candidates must maintain Physical Fitness standards to support the level of instruction provided. Participate in drug testing Pass a Medical Screening within 30 days prior to reporting Maintain basic first Aid and CPR qualifications MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Instructor must possess one of the following: Attended the Navy Instructor Training Course (NITC) (A-012-0077) (or military service equivalent) Academic credentials (teacher/professor) Instructor training via an academic institution containing a minimum 24 semester credits or quarter hours in the following: Effective communication and questioning techniques Adult learning theory and principles Instructional delivery methods Lesson delivery performance laboratory Training environment management Interpersonal skills Evaluation and Feedback Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities The contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
