This is a full-time, permanent role and will require a considerable degree of commitment, flexibility and adaptability on the part of the post holder. The successful candidate should demonstrate a positive attitude, will require a high degree of self-motivation and will be able to work in a flexible manner. The Role As Stores Manager, you will be working on a broad range of new build and refurbishment electrical engineering projects across the UK & Ireland. Industries include commercial & industrial, retail, wastewater treatment, healthcare and education. The role will also include managing the company’s stores and stock levels of inventory which is essential to our business. Key Responsibilities: Stores Management: · Working with multiple vendors to determine the best deals based on quality, prices and speed of delivery. · Work closely with the Contracts Manager and Estimators to ensure timely and cost-effective solutions are in place to meet the demands of the contact programmes. · Create, process and maintain purchase order requisitions through our computerised system. · Build relationships with key suppliers in order to secure competitive prices. · Ensure that stock levels are well maintained to avoid site downtime. · Take responsibility for the day-to-day activities of the stores, from receipt of materials through to dispatch to site. · Check incoming goods against delivery notes and for accuracy and damages. · Unpack and check all goods in a timely manner. · Ensure all stock movement is accurately recorded. · Ensure good housekeeping and ensure that storage of materials is safe and tidy. · Ensure quality and performance of materials are in line with required standards. · Hire and off-hire various plant items as required. · Deliver purchase order reports to management. · Chase deliveries that are urgent and co-ordinate call-off orders. · Scheduling the uninterrupted flow of materials from store/supplies to sites across Ireland & the UK. Qualifications: · 4 GCSE’S · Preferably, applicants should come from an electrical background. Skills, Competencies and Other Qualities: · Ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers in order to secure competitive prices. · Proven analytical and problem-solving skills. · High level of competency in the use of MS Office packages. · Good verbal, written and numerical skills. · Ability to multi-task and maintain composure in a demanding environment. · Excellent negotiation skills. · Excellent decision-making skills. · Team player with a positive, ‘can do’ attitude.
