As a Controls Functional Safety Engineer, you will be executing functional safety activities related to Controls design and Software implementation according to ISO 26262. You will join a team of control strategy and modeling experts within the Controls Group. Furthermore, you will be part of the R&D organization which is responsible for the complete system of automatic transmissions, hybrid and full electric powertrains. Job description: Coordinate, plan and document all safety-related activities within the Controls Group Design Control safety strategies/mechanisms to comply with the high-level safety goals (ISO26262-3, ISO26262-4) Support the embedded system design (ISO26262-4) by actively being involved in the safety activities with the embedded system department. Development of functional safety work products for controls software design (ISO26262-6) according to Punch Powertrain documentation guidelines and processes (e.g. software safety requirements, Software architecture design, software unit design and implementation). Development of software according to the Model Based Design processes (modeling, validation, prototyping, calibration & testing). Development of testing and verification work products and activities according to ISO26262 (e.g. test specification for safety requirements, test bench Supporting bench/HIL tests and system/vehicle validation of functional safety requirements) Support other functional safety work products and activities in the organization, (e.g. Item Definition, Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment, Functional Safety Concept, Technical Safety Requirements, FTA's, FMEA's, and other safety analyses for safety requirements); Profile: Master degree or higher diploma in the field of Automotive, Mechatronics, Software or Electrical Engineering. 3+ years of functional safety experience from automotive or related field. In-depth knowledge of ISO26262 or equivalent standards. Experience in electronics/ systems/ (model based/embedded) software design and development Working level knowledge of Matlab/Simulink and other coding languages (preferably C-code) You proceed according to a good methodology in development and problem solving. Preferably you are able to work with electronic test equipment to trace hardware/software integration problems. You are well organized and have strong analytical and communication skills. You are an excellent team player
