Projected Start: September 2020 Job Description The ideal candidate is proficient with UX, has a high level of visual design savvy and has a robust understanding of voice user interfaces. This individual possesses expert knowledge of usability principles for speech recognition-based IVR and is comfortable experimenting. Bonus points for technical writers and those with experience scripting for speech recognition applications. Your responsibilities as a Jr. UX/VUI Designer will be: Speech Voice User Interface (VUI) design & documentation Advanced UI design (animations, data visualizations) & documentation Working with the Product Manager to optimize UX design of our core application Conducting user research and usability testing to ensure all designs meet client and user requirements Analysing all research and feedback to gain user insight – and incorporate this feedback into new designs Assisting in the production of wireframes, prototypes, concept sketches, interaction designs and user flows using key tools such as Adobe XD and Microsoft Visio Creating clean and simple user-centred designs Working with developers and engineers to make the app more user-friendly and accessible Consulting on design rationale and specifications Who We Are LUCID is a Toronto-based startup organization driving innovation at the crossroads of mental health, machine learning, and music. Qualifications Bachelor’s of Fine Arts or Bachelor’s of Design in new media, intermedia, integrated media, voice, UX, or related field Proficient with Microsoft Office and the Adobe Creative Suite A self-starter and quick learner Familiar with speech VUI design and documentation, Interactive Voice Response (IVR) application requirements Working knowledge of HTML and CSS At least one professional position in a UX field Proficient in wire-framing and comfortable producing concept sketches and user flows A passion for UX, UI, and VUI A strong portfolio Some experience of user research and usability testing would be a bonus Experience with mobile and responsive design is highly desirable Strong written and verbal communication skills Selection Process To be considered for this position, please submit your: 1) current resume; 2) a letter of interest highlighting your relevant work; 3) a link to your portfolio.
