Performs registration of patients, including interviewing, completion of required forms, and room assignment. Obtains accurate demographic and insurance data. Verifies insurance coverage and authorization for treatment. Communicates with other departments regarding registration of patients. Performs routine pre-admitting counseling including financial counseling/screening. Greets and directs patients and visitors. Accepts patient valuables. Must work well under stress or tight deadlines. Must work well with supervisors, co-workers, patients/residents, family members and visitors. Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Experience: Previous office/hospital experience preferred. Certifications: None necessary. LVMC reserves the right to modify the minimum requirements depending on the needs of the organization. Skills/Ability: Excellent verbal skills required. Exhibits the ability to organize multiple assignments and follow through with accuracy. Exercises good judgment under stress. Demonstrates initiative, emotional stability, tact and poise. Other: Must have the ability to hear softly spoken voices preferably with out a hearing device.
