Job Summary Little Treasures is looking for energetic, hard working individuals to join our team! We are looking for a classroom educator for our 12-19 month old room. Educators are expected to participate fully in the program by implementing activities, crafts, and outdoor time with the children. Team based environment where you will work with one to two other educators in the classroom. Little Treasures is looking for individuals that have a passion for children and a love for the field! Job Type / Category Shift hours are Monday to Friday between our operating hours of 6am to 6pm, shift dependent on the needs of the centre. Full time position. This posting is for our Airdrie location. Required Education, Skills and Qualifications - Child Care Certification - Valid First Aide - Criminal Record Clearance and Vulnerable Sector Search - Food Safety Course - Child care experience preferred - Licensing and accreditation knowledge preferred Company Profile Little Treasures has been operating for over 10 years in Calgary. Our Airdrie location is one of our newer additions and opened in 2018 and cares for children aged 6 weeks to 12 years old. We believe that our services have a tremendous impact on the lives of the families we serve. Our educators have a great responsibility to provide a service that offers the most caring, nurturing, educational, and fun atmosphere possible while maintaining a safe, respectful, and disciplined environment. We believe that the centre is an extension of the family and therefore we wish to work closely with the parents/guardians by means of discussions, meetings, and other communicative ways to promote positive relationships and development for both the child and parent/guardian. Our goal is to stimulate the children with play and social interactions that contribute to their emotional, physical, social, and intellectual development. As well as encourage the creativity within each child. Our educators accomplish this by maintaining a 50% structured and 50% unstructured program that takes into account the different development, multiculturalism, abilities and needs of each child which enables us to encourage, enhance, guide, and address them positively and consistently. Little Treasurs' overall objective is to promote optimal development by allowing for equal opportunity for open child choice and educator directed activities where children are able to try new activities that they wouldn’t otherwise try on their own.
