Responsible for leading the system design in alignment with key business objectives in collaboration with key business and IT stakeholders. The role defines technology-aligned business capability roadmaps and corresponding requirements for IT-based solutions and resulting business changes. It is cross-functional in nature and applies a broad range of architectural skills to specific business alignments within the business. Importantly the role helps organise and facilitate the delivery of plans influenced by business need and technology modernisation. The Domain Architect develops optimised solution designs (full stack - end to end) for subsequent system development aligned with business plans, reference architectures and the Enterprise Architecture strategy. Key activities include: Defines the overall direction and target state architecture for the Domain (including roadmaps, architecture principles and standards) with input and consideration from business stakeholders and Enterprise Architecture. Produce high-level architecture artefacts for communication purposes (e.g. representations of current and state architectures). Define and apply architecture principles for solutions within the Domain. Create high-level Architecture Overviews, solutions and appropriate business communications. Develop solution designs and provide implementation direction to project and development teams. Develop and facilitate Architecture Decisions that meet business needs and architecture principles. Lead both project and product design strategies. Provide thought leadership to business and the IT community on how to better use technology to address business and IT-related complexities. Adapt and advocate the most appropriate methodology for business success (Waterfall, Agile or Hybrid). About you Tertiary qualifications in IT, Engineering or equivalent professional experience. Relevant Architectural and technical qualifications. Deep understanding of either: Asset Management and Field Systems OR Corporate Systems such as HR, Finance and Procurement. Experienced in SAP (or other ERP and/or Asset management systems). Experience in utilities, ideally in power. Demonstrated experience in hands-on development of architectures and complex systems. Proven experience in Corporate and Agile environments. Can work individually and as a team member. Demonstrated experience in successful change initiatives associated with IT in business; software development and Solution Architecture design. In-depth understanding of Utility and/or Corporate and digital environments, products and processes. Technical experience in Domain Driven Design approach; Service Oriented Architecture patterns and Information and data modelling. Knowledge of non-functional aspects of IT Architecture (Performance, Resilience, Availability, Security etc.) Strong problem-solving ability, analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail. Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people. Thrives in being creative and using constraints as an enabler for innovative outcomes.
