As we work to meet our immediate resource needs, the following employment opportunity is available with our Windsor, Ontario based Engineering Team. Responsibilities: Lead cross-functional project teams to develop or improve new or current products. Develop new product panning approval sheet, budget and time line. Assist Purchasing in supplier selection and development. Initiate the innovation of new concepts, designs, and novel new products, which may include the use of new and improved processes and new technologies. Initiate and coordinate engineering principals by use of CAE activities to minimize development time. Maintains and completes all program specific tax credit documentation Review and fully approve all product designs (future designs) for release in project phases and release to Applications Engineering. Coordinate, generate product and component Engineering Specifications Responsible for coordination, preparation and maintenance of DRBFM, DFMEA’s and DVP&R’s Project Management of CPD projects and Program deliverables (CPD - Core Product Development Process) Coordinate/participate with applications engineering to handoff new CPD products for production implementation. Establish and maintain adequate records of technical information, process methods / std’s., design and program details/info., and records to support/procure reliable patent actions. Assure product design meets internal/external specifications. Review and verify component, sub-assembly and assembly level drawings. Coordinate/Develop appropriate specs, test procedures to validate a product. Evaluate test results. Lead, coordinate and assists in design of systems to ensure manufacturability which may include tolerance stack-ups, design for ergonomics etc. Responsible for providing technical information, services and timing to support groups. Responsible to sign off, assist and/or manage engineering changes on programs. Initiate and follow up on the progress of Engineering Changes (ECP, CAD requests) Determine root cause analysis of product shortcomings and generate solutions for improvement. Product technical documentation - component drawings, stack-up’s, (all other as required). Participates actively in the requirement to retain ISO/IATF16949/ISO14001 certification. Fulfills responsibilities in Health & Safety as defined by legislation and L&P policies. Qualifications: University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electro/Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (B.A.Sc. Min, M.A.Sc. preferred). Minimum of 5 – 10 years (or more) of “hands-on” design/development experience – preferably in Research, Product Development automotive applications. Proven track record in project management, record for innovation. Experience with CAD (Catia is an asset), MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, MS Outlook, etc. Good working knowledge of GD&T, DFMEA, DFM, DOE, CAD experience a necessity, FEA an asset. Education and experience in noise testing and analysis. Confident, self-starter with excellent communication skills, both written & verbal, including presentations to a Team and Management Groups. Well organized including the ability to schedule and maintain multiple activities.
