Given the criticality of this role to Lam Research's success, this philosophy starts with you. Job Responsibilities Designs a complete and complex framework, system or product. Defines processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output and working parameters for hardware and/or software compatibility. Conceives system interfaces and business application prototypes. Identifies, analyzes and resolves system design weaknesses. Influences the shaping of future products by contributing to the framework (architecture) used across multiple products or systems. Provides multi-layered technical expertise for next generation initiatives. The main responsibility of a Systems Engineer is to initiate the design, development, and execution of engineering projects that lead to new system designs to be incorporated within Metryx’s next-generation products. Other Job Responsibilities Provide engineering design and developments to meet customer requirements, solving problems which will require an understanding of one or more of the disciplines of physics, electronic engineering, mechanical engineering and software. Clearly communicate experimental results of experiments and tests to executive and engineering staff Work within cross functional teams to ensure sub-systems and products are designed to high standards with respect to quality, functionality, reliability Follow a design from the start through to build and test and delivery to the customer, including producing clear documentation to other departments on how new designs should be manufactured, tested and maintained Maintain substantial knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories Investigate the feasibility of applying scientific principles and concepts to potential inventions and products Participate in the development of patent applications Coordinate interdepartmental activities and research efforts when projects need to be executed across multiple locations Provide engineering expertise when needed to understand and resolve customer problems Minimum Qualification Engineering or Physics graduate Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; or 6 years and Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience; or equivalent experience. Preferred Qualification Experience in a similar role in an engineering environment Proficient in designing, executing and presenting results of scientific and engineering experiments Professional use of a 3D Mechanical CAD package would be beneficial but not essential Semiconductor industry experience would be beneficial #LI-SM1 IND123 #GD Competencies Analytical Ability Communication Customer Focus Problem Solving Team Collaboration Technical Skills More About Us ….
