Position: Mechanical Test Engineer Student Intern Department: Mechanical Testing Department Dates of Internship: Monday, May 18th 2020 to Friday, August 14th 2020 Weekly Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Paid Internship: Yes Company Profile: Laboratory Testing Inc. Candidates will get a hands-on experience performing mechanical tests such as Hardness, Tensile, Charpy, Hot Tensile, and Stress Rupture Testing. Each candidate will have an opportunity to work on a process improvement project to further develop our MT processes. Our internship program is designed to provide you with a positive work/training experience and challenging objectives that are consistent with your career goals and current level of education. Candidate Qualifications: Currently enrolled as a full-time student, sophomore or higher, at an accredited U.S. college or university. Pursuing an undergraduate degree in mechanical, metallurgy and material science,electrical, industrial engineering, process manufacturing with GPA 3.0 or greater. U.S. citizen or have current documented legal right to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. Work and communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing with department managers, supervisors, and technicians. Ability to understand and interpret a technical drawing or an industry material or test specification. Proficiency with SolidWorks, MS Excel or other spreadsheet applications as well as Six Sigma / Quality improvement tools and methodologies is a plus.
