LEAP Academy University Charter School is seeking an experienced, highly qualified, passionate and dedicated Director of Facilities. This person will report to the Chief Operations Officer. LEAP’s Director of Facilities will partner with leadership teams and Board of Trustees. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Provides oversight and strategic leadership for the Building and Grounds Services, Maintenance Service Departments and Campus Services Oversee the management of custodial services programs, establish performance standards and ensure quality control Actively participate in the management of capital projects. Coordinate efforts with the Planning, Design & Construction Department to provide effective review of contract documents prior to award, interface throughout the construction phases to promote contract administration efficiency, followed by a thorough and complete transition of the facility to the Facilities Maintenance Department Plans, directs, schedules and manages all activities and operations of fleet and equipment maintenance Responsible for planning, budgeting, and inventory control for all functions under this position’s jurisdiction. Recommends long-term facility plans and budgets All other duties as assigned by the Chief Academic Officer and Lead Person/COO Education & Qualifications: Bachelors’ degree in Engineering A minimum of ten years of experience in management of complex, multi-building facilities Five (5) years’ of experience in a leadership role including supervision of trade workers Five (5) years’ experience in writing specification for and reviewing RFPs Five (5) years’ experience at managing large dollar vendor contracts Excellent oral and written communication skills Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and to make informed and viable decisions 0
