About the Job: L3Harris is seeking an Assistant Management Accountant as it continues to develop and establish a foothold in the rapidly growing market space for Autonomous Surface Vessels (ASV). The role will be based in Portchester, Hampshire. As Assistant Management Accountant you will be a key contributor to our financial and internal control processes within our Unmanned Maritime Systems (UMS) division and will apply principles of accounting to review and interpret financial reports, rules, and regulations. Responsible for maintaining accounts and records in various general and/or cost accounting functions. Develops, implements and/or maintains accounting systems: Journal entries, General Ledger, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payable, Revenue Reconciliation, Ad Hoc analysis. Candidate compiles data, allocates costs, prepares income and balance sheets, profit loss, consolidated and other statements. Expected to adhere to and communicate accounting policies, procedures, and audits. Key Responsibilities: Prepare HFM - All schedules and supporting documentation - ASC 606 and ASC 605 Preparing/obtaining all documents needed to prepare HFM Preparing HFM to CP Reconciliation Prepare monthly JE's or review and post entries if prepared by junior staff Controller to determine who is responsible for each entry - per monthly checklist Review/Prepare all recons required during the month or review if prepared by junior staffPost cash daily, book I/C transactions timely, open/close projects upon request Controller to determine who is responsible for each recon - per monthly checklist All general accounting (maintain account/Org, PAGs etc.) and Fixed Asset accounting All reporting- BS Flux, MJE's and all other requests from corporate, segment or sector Update CP on a regular basis by running the processes. Open/close accounting periods All activities assigned individually or on a shared basis on the monthly/quarterly check list. This includes GL to PL reconciliation of revenue/profit, SIE to TB reconciliation, review TB for unusual balances, negative unbilled transfer, loss transfer, inventoried contract costs, negative AR and AP reclass Prepare quarterly VAT return for review and submission, and Marine Duty Fuel return Assist in setup/maintenance/performance and reconciliation of indirect cost pool allocations. SOX support required from the GL group. Coordinate SOX support with other groups Annual reporting like 10K, TIP and any assistance required for the ICE submission Other ad hoc analysis requests from controller and other stakeholders New tasks as assigned, e.g., tax filings. Work with internal and external auditors Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives Requirements: Detailed understanding of general ledger, income statement and balance sheet. Experience with reconciliations, cash receipts, petty cash. Knowledge of GAAP, FARS and SOX. Detail oriented. Excel (intermediate to expert) and Word expertise and excellent Data Entry skills required. Needs to be able to work well with co-workers, other departments, executive management and other divisions in the organization.
