The role We are looking for an experienced Communicator for our International team. The role is instrumental in ensuring our business strategy is embedded and understood across the Zone, employees understand and support our company Purpose, Vision and Values, as well as the strategic vision of our Senior Leadership Team, and our International Zone is closely connected through regular and effective communications. Reporting to the Head of Internal Communications, International, you will play a key role in helping to develop and execute our International communications strategy, ensuring quality and excellent across the Zone. Accountabilities Running an international communications hub team: with SR support, you will manage the smooth and efficient running of our international internal communications team. You will supervise a communications specialist who will be responsible for coordinating across the Zone, and will ensure all communications plans, priorities and best practices are shared in a timely and efficient way. You will be responsible for leading a well-running international communications team, driving quality and consistency across the Zone Supporting the development, cascade and execution of our internal communications plan, working with the Head of Internal communications to ensure our communications plan aligns with our global and Zone business strategy, and effectively communicates our Purpose, Vision and Values. With SR support, you will be responsible for cascading the plan across the Zone, to central functional teams and to key stakeholders across the business Support the timely and effective communications around organizational initiatives and announcements, ensuring all employees and stakeholders are effectively communicated with. You will also have to help respond to internal and external crisis situations and issues that may impact employee well-being and engagement or company reputation Oversee the content development across our key channels, including newsletters, SR leadership communications and messaging, external channels such as Linked In, and other internal channels. You will drive the development of forward-looking content from teams across the Zone, ensuring consistency of messaging and quality of all written and verbal content You will help develop, execute and cascade a communications plan around our ongoing and future sustainability initiatives, including our CSR report, plastic and packaging initiatives, and future goals. Working with our Talent Acquisition and Corporate Affairs teams, you will plan and develop effective external communications across key business channels (e.g. Linked In) to promote our reputation as an employer of choice You will support in the planning and management of key organizational events such as Conventions, Town Halls, etc. You will be a dotted line manager to a communications specialist, establishing rituals & routines and effective ways of working Skills Significant experience managing internal and external communications, corporate communications, issues management and stakeholder engagement, ideally in a fast-paced global commercial organization or in a client-facing role Degree level education, with a background in public relations, journalism or marketing 5+ years of experience working in a public relations / marketing communications function Strong project management and leadership skills with outstanding organizational, budget management and planning skills Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. You must have a strong command of the English language and the ability to simplify complicated messages Comfortable communicating with all levels, and able to instill confidence in SR stakeholders and peers Skilled in dealing with sensitive, complex and confidential issues and situations A familiarity with Corporate Social Responsibility communications Commercially astute and able to align your objectives with that of the wider business Self-motivated, able to work autonomously: a bias for action, reliable, excellent presentation skills Confident bringing new ideas Location London - The Shard Location(s) London - The Shard
