Kodak Alaris Colorado is in Windsor, Colorado. The site is the home of Kodak Moments Thermal Media Manufacturing and the Windsor Regional Distribution Center. The operations are responsible for the manufacturing and distribution of thermal media for photographic applications. The media are sold to the worldwide customers of Kodak Moments. The facility operates 24 hours per day / 5 days per week. Complex manufacturing facilities, utilities infrastructure and warehousing functions are located at the Colorado site. Operation of the facility is governed by numerous environmental regulations, permits and agreements, to protect the air, land, water and public health. Production was launched in 1992, with significant capital investments completed in 2005-2014 to increase the site's capacity and capabilities. Position Summary: Kodak Alaris Colorado is looking for a college level student intern currently enrolled in the Chemical Engineering field of study. The intern will be given the opportunity to gain valuable experience through real world business cases and learn how their contributions drive decision making that directly impacts the business. The intern will work under the direction of one or more senior resources who will assist and guide day-to-day responsibilities and project work. Position Description: Kodak Alaris is seeking an engineering intern to work at its manufacturing facility in Windsor, CO. This individual will assist with process engineering design work and provide support for the site's Process Safety Management program. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, development of material and energy balances; engineering drawing audits and modifications; and participation in compliance audits and remediations. This position requires basic mechanical skills and knowledge of core Chemical Engineering fundamentals. Experience with Allen Bradley PLC programming would be beneficial but is not required. The ideal candidate would be a 3 rd or 4 th year Chemical Engineering major with a current minimum 3.0 GPA who interacts well in teams and can also work independently under the direction of others. This individual will be expected to bring new and fresh ideas to the current manufacturing process and effectively communicate their ideas as well as the results of their work. In addition, this individual can expect to learn more about Process Safety Management, real time troubleshooting of manufacturing problems, and the Process Engineering field via day-to-day interactions with resources in Maintenance, Operations, Quality, Engineering, and site Management. Essential Responsibilities: Working toward an BS in Chemical Engineering Ability to work in a team setting and come up to speed quickly Good communication skills - ability to sell ideas to peers/management Initiative - results oriented Strong written and verbal communication skills Knowledge of engineering drawings such as block flow and piping and instrumentation diagrams Knowledge of material and energy balances Basic mechanical skills Strong documentation ability Ability to present their work and accept constructive feedback in a design review process Ability to conduct research through the web and review of written documentation Beneficial Additional Skills & Knowledge: Standard Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) in a Windows OS Use of AutoCAD Familiarity with Allen Bradley PLC's This job description is provided as a guide to the main duties and responsibilities of the role.
