The Hotel The Kilkenny River Court Hotel are currently recruiting a self motivated and experienced Bar Manager for a busy 4* hotel. On the banks of the River Nore in the heart of the medieval city of Kilkenny, overlooking the city's 12th-century castle, The Kilkenny River Court Hotel has a quiet location in a private courtyard, back from the busy Kilkenny streets. The main shopping areas, theatres and entertainment are all close by. Each of the large rooms is stylishly decorated with fine furnishings and offer free Wi-Fi. Most overlook the River Nore and the castle. Guests can dine at the award winning Riverside Restaurant and Terrace Kitchen which offers an al fresco dining experience. The hotel can also host weddings, corporate events and special family occasions. The Position We are looking for a self motivated, passionate manager with proven bars experience at management level, with the ability to develop and lead the Beverage Team. Job Purpose To ensure friendly and efficient service in the bar whilst controlling costs and maintaining agreed standards of performance to ensure they meet the consistent requirements dictated by the business. Job Responsibilities Effectively supervise all food and beverage service in the bar Prepare effective staff rosters to ensure ample cover Communicate with employees Carry out skills training for all team members Identify training requirements for team members and develop appropriate actions to meet these Deal with complaints/queries in an attentive and courteous manner Be responsible for bar stocks and ensure agreed control procedures are maintained Promote in house sales Ensure orders are taken promptly and clearly Ensure consistently high quality customer service provided Experience/Qualifications Must have a minimum of 2 years Bar Management experience in Hotels, including banqueting bars Must hold relevant qualifications Must have proven experience in Stock Control Procedures Proven people management experience Proficient in Micros Skills / Attributes Required Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Ability to lead and motivate a team Strong customer focus Excellent organisational skills The ideal candidate will show an energy and determination to complete work duties to high standard and offer a high standard of service to all clients at all times.
