Title: Dealer Technical Support Specialist Primary Location: Mexico (MX) - Coahuila (MX-COA) - Saltillo Function: Customer & Product Support John Deere is a foremost leader in the ag equipment business, and we continue to put a solid stamp on other industries. Main Responsibilities: Provides product and customer support, primarily through the DTAC system, for the Tractors platform. Develops new solutions and provides product technical support to field teams, channel partners, customers on complex problems. Has the skill necessary to take more complex problem and present a solution that is usable by a common dealer technician. Identifies emerging issues or complex product problems using known information and personal knowledge. Once identified, puts together detailed evidence packages and presents to a Data Analysis Team for agreement on starting a formal Corrective Action Review. In order to reduce DTAC call volume, identifies gaps in current publication and training information and acts as the lead with the publication, marketing, and training teams to update information in order to stay current with changing field needs. Proactively identifies own training needs to maintain current on product enhancements and attends appropriate training as needed Adapt/develop/deliver complex technical content training materials to the local and global DTAC team and channel partners. May travel to the field to collect failure data to provide problem definition on complex problems. What Skills You Need: The DTAC specialist must have writing skills because of the use a computer system to communicate to dealers and to engineers. The specialist must have computer skills and specifically the use of all the Microsoft Office applications. The specialist must be able to read part blue prints and interpret the tolerance information. The specialist must know how to use Service Advisor and maneuver through the technical manuals. The specialist must have verbal skills so they can conduct one on one conversations with dealer personnel or engineering in order to properly fix a tractor problem. The specialist must understand the use of ISO drawings and schematics. The specialist must have a solid basic understanding of engines, electronics, hydraulics, air conditioning, and powertrains. The specialist must understand the correct use of basic mechanical tools described in our technical manuals. Travel availability up to 35% of time What Makes You Stand Out: The senior specialist should be able to use Service Advisor to assist in calibrating, programming, and diagnosing complex tractor problems. The specialist should have more than a basic understanding of the tractor systems to the pointthat they can diagnose complex problems without written procedures. The senior specialist should have a solid understand of repair procedures to the point of knowing some approximate times to complete them. The senior specialist should be able see gaps in our publications and training programs and provide specific recommendations to correct them.
