JBT currently has a great opportunity for a Tool Designer to join the Proseal team just south of Manchester. Proseal uk Ltd is a company that designs and manufactures high quality tray sealing and conveying systems for the food industry and has manufacturing facilities in the UK, North America and Australia. Formed in 1998, Proseal has not only become the leading manufacturer of tray sealing machinery and tooling in the UK but is now also recognised as a major force internationally with manufacturing facilities in United states and Australia along with offices in Ireland, Holland, Spain, Canada, South America, Dubai and Russia. Our aim is to be an innovative and pioneering organisation within the fast-paced food industry, and to take pride, not only in producing a range of high quality, efficient, cost-effective tray sealing machines, but also in providing a service that surpasses our customers' expectations. Responsibilities: Carrying out the design process and development for both new and existing products to ensure accuracy and quality To be responsible for preparing bills of materials for the manufacture of the designs and assemblies, including documenting of all part numbers and drawing references To liaise with colleagues, assisting with potential quality issues through production Interpreting customer ideas and preparing drawings and 3D models for manufacture, including all dimensions, tolerances, finishes and notes Assisting Managers and colleagues with matters relating to product development To identify opportunities to reduce costs in the design, materials used and manufacturing techniques To provide feedback for continuous improvement of products and services Qualifications: Desirable Experience An Engineering Qualification ONC/HNC/HND Minimum 2 years' engineering experience Understanding of mechanical and/or Electrical installation AutoCAD 2D design experience Good understanding of 3D Cad design Essential Attributes: Can do attitude to trouble shooting and problem solving You should possess a High degree of reliability, flexibility and self-motivation. You will be required to work on your own initiative and as part of a team, with good communication skills You will be required to work overtime as and when required
