Hours: Full time 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday (Flexibility required to work weekends, bank holidays and additional hours) Salary: Competitive and based on knowledge, skills & experience Company: Veritas Consultancy (UK) Ltd The Role: We are seeking an experienced PR & Marketing Officer to join our vibrant team. A key part of this role will be implementing communications activity and ensuring that the business generates positive endorsements among all stakeholders. You’ll be the primary media contact, responding to enquiries and proactively identifying and seeking out opportunities. This is a hands-on role, so as well as working on strategy you’ll be happy to get on with the day-to-day, supporting other parts of the team when it’s needed. The successful candidate will be results driven and thrive in a busy, fast paced environment and have the ability to communicate with senior management, colleagues as well as high profile guests and associates. Duties will include, but are not limited to: Managing the media and PR strategy of the organisation Building the brand and raising awareness through a range of digital and print media Identifying both reactive and proactive media opportunities Acting as a point of contact for media requests, liaising with press contacts and journalists Creating content such as articles, press releases, crib sheets etc Communicating with colleagues and key spokespeople Liaising with, and answering enquiries from media, individuals and other organisations, often via telephone and email Researching, writing and distributing press releases to targeted media Collating and analysing media coverage Writing and editing in-house magazines, case studies, speeches, articles and annual reports Preparing and supervising the production of publicity brochures, hand-outs, direct mail leaflets, promotional videos, photographs, films and multimedia programmes Devising and coordinating photo opportunities Organising events including press conferences, exhibitions, open days and press tours Maintaining and updating information on the organisation’s website Managing and updating information and engaging with users on social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook etc. Sourcing and managing speaking and sponsorship opportunities Commissioning market research Fostering community relations through events such as open days and through involvement in community initiatives Managing the PR aspect of a potential crisis situation. Working alongside the digital and campaigns teams to produce an integrated PR strategy Managing the overall reputation and brand of the organisation Keen attention to detail, and a willingness to strive for continual process improvement Some international travel may be required Admin work Perform other duties as assigned Skills: Educated to degree standard; Excellent verbal and written communications skills A successful track record in a media/PR environment A strong understanding of press and media in the UK An existing network of media contacts A team player who is comfortable working with other professionals. Solid organsational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills Well-organised, excellent time management skills, ability to prioritise workload, deal with conflicting demands and meet tight deadlines Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Office Hardworking with a can-do attitude and demonstrable use of Initiative Excellent interpersonal skills Aptitude in presentation and public speaking Awareness of different media agendas Experience with technologies and best practices for campaigns across multiple platforms Strict adherence to company philosophy/mission statement Experience: Bachelor’s degree – BSc/BA in PR, communications, journalism or relevant field Minimum of two 2 years of proven PR and Marketing experience Qualifications: Degree level or above Application process: Please submit an updated CV and cover letter to [email removed] stating why you would be suitable for this role.
