FLSA: Exempt SUPERVISION BY: Summer Programs Directors DEPARTMENT: Special Programs JOB STATUS: (1) Temporary; June 12 - July 24, 2020; two to four hours per day, (2) Temporary; July 27 - August 7, 2020; two to six hours per day SUMMARY: An experienced educator with a strong background in education to teach one or two classes a day. Must be able to create own project-based, engaging curriculum that inspires a love for learning in students. EXPECTATIONS: A respectful, responsible, and resourceful disposition A desire to foster an environment in which students feel safe to investigate curriculum, discover the world in which they live, and learn about themselves Effective and appropriate communication as well as positive collaboration and interaction with supervisors, colleagues, teachers’ aides, students, and parents A willingness and ability to improve based on feedback from supervisors A proactive sensibility and willingness to seek support when needed QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Highly skilled in teaching, organization, planning, innovation and problem-solving Knowledge of current educational pedagogy Proficient in Google applications as well as a willingness and ability to learn new computer applications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university Teaching Certificate preferred Two years teaching experience Must pass background clearance check. TB clearance required.
