Requiring knowledge of mining operations’ business, personel technologies, plus excellent communication and organisational skills, the work of an Application Specialist is challenging yet rewarding. The Application Specialist owns and manages a specific application from one of our products. Responsible for setting, prioritizing, and evaluating the work generated by an agile software development team, in order to ensure impeccable features and functionality of the product. The Application Specialist works with the people who develop the product, those who use the product and those who manage the business to ensure that the product is meeting everyone's needs. They also listen to the users of the product, first to design the solution, specify any new features, and later to gather and analyse their usage and feedback. This helps them to make decisions about the future of the product — what will and won't be possible, which features to pursue and prioritise — and then produce product roadmaps. In summary: define the what, why and when of the application. They are responsible for: Product Roadmapping Product suite profitability Conducting market research Generating product requirements Determining product specification Competitor analysis and assessing product market data Reporting short-term and long-term product reports Creating Application marketing and on-boarding content Product Backlog maintenance Plan release schedule in line with customer requirements Overseeing UI Designs (w/ designers) Product QA test plans and reports Conference proposals and attendance Assist with sales (Technical Assistance & Creating Proposals) New Partnerships to expand Applications portfolio Product Demoing User Training Assist Data Science team with Contextual Guidance Attributes & Skills Understanding the Customer (Mining Operations) Software Product Management & Development People Management Requirements Analysis Technology Pricing Strategy and Planning Competitive Analysis Outstanding communication, presentation and leadership skills Excellent organizational and time management skills Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills Creative thinker with a vision Attention to detail Qualifications 3-5 years Mining/Metallurgy/Geology Experience Degree in a technical engineering discipline English Proficiency In-depth knowledge of Agile process and principles is a bonus Benefits: Flexible working hours Bonus scheme Work from home opportunities Profit sharing/share options Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Experience: mining industry: 4 years (Required)
