Job Role We are looking for a Service Operations Manager for our client based security operations team who is motivated, enthusiastic and proactive about driving impact in a fast paced, agile and expanding Organisation. The successful candidate will have responsibility for managing the service delivered by our security operations team for a strategic client. The role of Service Operations Manager is a critical position in the business that delivers both on the customer experience and on bottom line performance. You will report to the Head of Managed Security Services and you will be directly responsible for a team of highly skilled engineers. As well as motivating them to do their best, it will be down to you to plan and resource effectively to handle the demand placed on the business. Whilst leading an operationally mature organisation with SLA’s, metrics and change management, you will be required to manage the day to day service delivery and escalations through a holistic, end to end incident management process, facilitate, promote and lead collaboration and oversee an integrated approach to Operations, across all teams. As a Service Operations Manager, you will also lead service improvement projects aimed at streamlining activities while driving up performance and quality. You will tackle complex problems that affect customers and the business and work to resolve them with innovative solutions. Responsibilities of the Role Provide overall leadership, control and decision making taking responsibility for the Service Operations team. Accountable for meeting and improving SLA & KPIs for the different service streams Flexibility to work out of business hours during critical business requirements Reporting to senior management on all Service Operations issues Lead, motivate and support a large team within a time-sensitive and demanding environment. This will include the implementation and management of career development plans for your team. Analyse work practices, identifying performance bottlenecks with a view of improving the wider teams in your location. Drive continuous process improvement with a view to enhancing our Customer Experience and managing costs. Ensure necessary technical training, awareness and experience levels are maintained within the team. Carry out team appraisals and also provide timely, frequent and consistent feedback to recognise performance strengths and provide coaching for improvement opportunities. Production of statistics and management reports in a timely and accurate manner. Responsible for the transition of services to operations Implement and maintain efficient, effective Business Continuity Management procedures and processes for all operations and support the wider company business continuity objectives. Review and assess Sales proposals for new client services to determine capability to deliver and resourcing requirements. Required Experience Experience in the following is required: Experience of successful operations management in a 24*7 environment with team leadership/mentoring experience. Experience working with scheduling of resources and prioritising tasks Experienced in meeting deadlines while following processes and procedures Capable of working with other teams that challenge your processes and procedures Proven Management and Leadership experience A thorough understanding of the principles of ITIL and the application of same. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Incisive task and time management Understands customer needs with a proven ability to gain, build and maintain stakeholder trust. Proven experience of diligent crisis management in the event of major issues. Desirable Experience Whilst this experience is not required, it would be extremely advantageous; Experience in a technical role beneficial 8 - 10 years of work experience 3 - 4 years of experience in a people manager role. Have experience in the IT Security Industry Strong Stakeholder and People Management with an ability to articulate and communicate effectively A change champion that shows a drive and intellect capable of operating at the next organisational level.
