Disclosure Team Member/ Support Investigator Salary: £29,149 per annum (Grade 10) Location: Sale, Directorate of Major Investigations (DMI) Your role The principle function of this post will be the review and assessment of all retained material from a disclosure perspective with regard to Criminal, Misconduct or Coronial proceedings. As required, and directed by DMI senior leadership, provide assistance to the investigation team by conducting investigative actions on independent investigations including criminal and misconduct allegations, conducting witness and subject interviews and gathering evidence, including its analysis and presentation in support of the investigative aims The Disclosure Team Member (DTM)/ Support Investigator role may provide advice and guidance to other staff that are fulfilling this role throughout the organisation. In response to business led demand the DTM will also provide support to investigations by conducting other appropriate investigative tasks. It is not anticipated that this part of the role will exceed 20% of the overall role profile. What you will need A demonstrably high level of communication skills, both written and verbal Proven experience of undertaking the role of Disclosure Team Member in a criminal investigation A sound knowledge and understanding of the Criminal Procedures Investigations Act 1996 and relevant amendments to disclosure requirements. Proven experience of making appropriate decisions based on assessment of existing information. As well as setting the standards the police should apply when handling complaints, we investigate and make decisions on some of the UK’s most sensitive cases, including where police action may have led to death or serious injury.
