As part of your apprenticeship we will fully support you to become part of the team, to develop a familiarity with the department’s structures and ways of working and the processes and skills required to run the day-to-day administrative and on-the-ground operations of the department. This Apprenticeship is suited to those looking to begin or develop a career in public engagement, arts, learning or museum administration. The role will involve working closely with the Operations Producer, primarily on the administrative and practical operation of IWM’s programmes for schools (during term time) and families (during school holidays) in London, as well as events or programmes for young people and adults. Key Duties 1. Support the Public Engagement and Learning team by assisting with administrative and practical operational tasks, working collaboratively across IWM departments and with our bookers and the public. 2. Provide support and assistance during Public Engagement and Learning activities, sessions and events. 3. Assist the team with administrative tasks such as drafting documents, managing rostas, payroll administration, reporting on bookings, departmental filing, archiving and record keeping and financial management. 4. Answering questions from the public and bookers about booking arrangements and the Public Engagement and Learning programme. 5. Carrying out, collating and reporting on evaluation feedback on programmes. 6. Be responsible for London office and programme stationery and materials, maintaining an organised and tidy set physical and digital resources. 7. Proactively provide administrative support to the department, including diary and travel arrangements. 8. Develop project management responsivity over the course of the apprenticeship in order to work towards leading on aspects of a project with support from the department. 9. Supervise the work of volunteers when required. 10. Be security conscious, ensuring familiarity and cooperation with all IWM security procedures. 11. Be actively committed to health and safety and safeguarding, ensuring familiarity with all of IWM's health and safety and safeguarding policies and procedures. Minimum Qualifications Must have GCSE Maths and English grade A*-C Skills and Experience required Have some experience of working or volunteering in a busy environment involving a level of public engagement. An interest in working in museums. Effective numeracy and communication skills. Experience of using Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
