We have a new and exciting opportunity for an experienced Travel Retail sales professional to join our passionate and successful travel retail team! This role will report to our Business Development Director (Travel Retail). As this role will involve significant account and client management activities, we are looking for candidates who already have an in-depth and wide reaching existing network within Global Travel Retail, ideally in Northern, Central and Eastern Europe. We are therefore ideally looking for a candidate with sales and account management experience in either spirits and/or luxury brand sectors within Travel Retail. Our preferred candidate will live in the UK (but we will potentially consider applications from candidates who live in Europe). Candidates must be able to commute (as required) to our head office in West Lothian, Scotland. As the successful candidate will be responsible for key accounts, there would be regular European international travel required. Fluency is a language other than English (ideally German) would be highly desirable. So… if you have that unequivocal wanderlust, combined with being a global travel retail sales and account management guru in luxury brands, and you are a first class, high flying sales professional, with your own personality and oodles of passion, then we would love to hear from you! Here’s a bit more information on what our ideal candidate would be like… Highly experienced and successful in sales and business development activities, a travel retail industry and market expert, charismatic, gregarious and a consummate professional with a high level of customer empathy, fanatically goal oriented and impeccably honest and true. We are also looking for candidates with practical in country international (preferably European) experience. To be successful in the role, you will need to have 100% acceptance of responsibility for results. Your self-discipline will be key. We want you to be able to demonstrate how your individual pedigree has driven your industry beating successes to date and we are looking for you to 'knock our socks off' in terms of your recent achievements in a similar role. A working knowledge and appreciation of delivering fantastic, strategic, partnerships and business results in an entrepreneurial and agile business will be key to your success. The role itself will have direct sales, client services and account management responsibility for key travel retail accounts (existing and new), therefore we are looking for a strong multi tasker, someone who can balance and prioritise partnerships across a number of important customers (spanning every channel there is in travel retail!) This role will challenge even the most confident of sales professionals, but the personal satisfaction you will gain from each of your wins and successes here, will drive and spur you on to continue to challenge yourself and keep bringing in the right results time and time again! We are passionate about building our award winning whisky and gin brands in travel retail; you will know when and where to invest in activation and visibility, and be able to work closely with Trade Marketing to ensure our award winning brands really stand out from the crowd! Reporting to the Business Development Director (Travel Retail), your key responsibilities and objectives will include developing and implementing profitable growth strategies in your areas for the Travel Retail sector, building brands, market share, top line revenues and profitability building and developing the customer base managing multiple accounts from small to large scale, global, accounts driving & supporting activation and visibility to drive awareness, trial, and ongoing sales of our brands leading the development and activation of the Region Growth Plans: the regional 3 year travel retail development plan Strategic plans for Tier 1 account Tactical plans for Tier 2 accounts actively driving the expansion of building consumer relationships through; ‘liquid on lips’ tasting (including working in partnership on occasion with IMD & Distributor Brand Ambassadors) developing and delivering excellent commercial results through development of value focused relationships supporting the work of our support teams in developing the sales of individual high value vintages and special bottlings developing competitive and profitable pricing strategies, which need to be aligned with the overall Company pricing strategies and structures and, where appropriate (do we need ‘where appropriate’, as they will have to do take ownership of pricing discussions with the customers?), reviewing and supervising negotiation of trade terms and liaising with colleagues as appropriate partnering with both the sales support team to ensure smooth and timely support is given to the customer base and order fulfilment processes, and partnering with the finance team to also ensure that the credit and payment arrangements are within Company standards, eliminating over-dues and appropriate for the scale and needs of the customer Looking closely at market trends and opportunities, raising opportunities for profitable NPD contributing to the management team, introducing the highest levels of professionalism and implementing world class operating standards and processes to prepare the sector for further growth acting as a conduit for best practice and external knowledge group-wide and keeping abreast of industry trends and competitor activity, ensuring product, marketing activities, strategic CRM initiatives and operations are setting industry leading standards Next steps...
