The Role This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Chemical or Process Engineer to join our Water Treatment Systems (WTS) division based in the heart of Melbourne. You will join a highly motivated and talented multidisciplinary team of engineers who work across the projects value chain. Projects typically involve feasibility studies and concept design, detailed design and documentation, specification development, procurement, construction (planning and/or supervision), commissioning and operations support. WTS products include municipal and industrial water treatment plants, chemical storage and dosing systems, operation and maintenance support and other one-off projects for Ixom’s own manufacturing sites. Our projects are predominantly located in VIC, NSW & QLD and travel to the project sites is required. This can be for up to 3 months throughout the year and dependent on projects. Duties Travel to various sites to work on specific projects (10/4 rotation at times depending on size/location of project for site supervision/commissioning) Undertake design, specification, equipment selection, procurement, commissioning and other engineering duties Act in the capacity of Project Engineer for selected projects, coordinating process, mechanical, electrical, civil engineers and Ixom’s internal equipment manufacturing engineers Take an active role in tendering, including development of concept design, cost estimates and commercial/technical proposals Act in the capacity of Commissioning Engineer/Construction Supervisor from time to time support Ixom’s operation and maintenance service contracts This role may also require you to be on call to respond to process alarms from home / office, around the clock, one week in every 3- 5 weeks. Travel when required for project and maintenance works. Skills & Experience Significant, proven experience in design, design coordination and documentation Familiarity with water treatment plant commissioning and design Hands on commissioning, construction supervision and operations is essential A tertiary qualification in Chemical/Process Engineering with significant experience in the water treatment industry Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D and Solidworks 3D design & modelling highly desirable Experience with fluid transport system design and equipment selection Excellent communication skills and developed customer-service focus Demonstrated outputs driven and pragmatic approach to project delivery This is a critical, challenging role for a highly process-driven, experienced engineer.
