If yes, read on… We are looking for a regional manager to join our growing team to develop, lead and manage a portfolio of volunteer-led networks. In this newly created role you’ll work with volunteers to support in directing the networks outputs in line with the IOSH strategy. You’ll proactively link with educators and other stakeholders to develop the reach of IOSH within the region that you cover and work within communities to raise the level of the occupational safety and health (OSH) profession. Embracing opportunities is key to the success of the Regional Manager role. You’ll seek to build and manage new relationships through self-generated leads and developing existing relationships. Through the development of these relationships you’ll bring people together to further IOSH’s charitable and commercial aims. Excellent communication is also vital. You will develop strong and lasting relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure you meet and exceed their expectations and demands. You’ll be a great negotiator and have the ability to tailor your approach to the needs of your stakeholders. Whilst you are required to work remotely, you will play a pivotal role in the Regional Managers team, working closely with colleagues on a number of projects. You will also be self-motivated with the ability to think creatively to deliver measurable results. No agencies please Requirements: Role overview Develop, lead and manage a portfolio of volunteer led networks, directing their outputs in line with the IOSH strategy, to support the member value proposition and to deliver the charitable objects of the Institution. Working within communities to promote good OSH practice, linking with educators and other stakeholders to develop the reach of IOSH within a region. The role will be home based (unless IOSH decides to invest in a local premises) and the role holder can expect to be undertaking visits or attending meetings for three quarters of their time. Role responsibilities Engaging with volunteers within a region to direct activities that deliver services to members and into the wider community Being an expert voice (non-OSH) and representing IOSH externally, attending and representing IOSH at various events within a region. Building and managing new relationships through self-generated leads and developing existing relationships within a region. Being able to bring people together to further IOSH’s charitable and commercial aims. Working across all directorates within IOSH to achieve maximum benefit for partners and stakeholders within a region. Ensuring the integrity of the IOSH brand and maximising opportunities to grow its reputation Delivering IOSH’s strategic objectives by working with Strategic Development to develop relationships with mutually beneficial partners within a region. Seeking continuously to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the organisation in collaborating with others Measuring network performance against a set of agreed KPIS Performance managing networks that underperform, including escalating volunteering issues as appropriate. Make business decisions that are financially responsible, accountable, justifiable, and defensible in accordance with organisation policies and procedures Providing support and input as required to any organisational projects and working in partnership with a variety of stakeholders. Frequent travel throughout The Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland and to the UK based Head Office, undertaking evening engagements and overnight stays. This will include occasional weekend working. Take responsibility for your own health, safety and wellbeing, and undertake health and safety duties and responsibilities for your role. Person specification Knowledge criteria: Knowledge of market analysis techniques Proven track record in account management/relationship management within a performance driven context Insight into and understanding of Occupational Health and Safety Experience of working with volunteers Skills and abilities criteria: Target and performance driven with a strong focus on driving results through strong relationships Negotiation skills to be able to broker solutions in a wide variety of scenarios and the courage and ability to challenge practices where necessary Proactive, able to anticipate identify and resolve problems in a timely manner and to initiate and achieve process improvement Customer focussed with the ability to build a strong business relationship, understanding organisation requirements and identifying appropriate solutions Personally resilient and able to remain calm when in challenging situations Forward thinking with the ability to recognise and implement change Outstanding interpersonal relationship building and development skills. Excellent presentation skills. To present issues credibly, confidently and clearly – both in written and orally and to be able to adapt style to influence others A confident communicator with excellent communication skills Able to exhibit a high level of confidentiality, tact and diplomacy Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise and manage work from a variety of sources to meet deadlines Able to work remotely from HQ but retain excellent internal relationships Experience criteria: Proven experience of working in a busy professional environment, dealing with conflicting demands and priorities Experience of building collaborative relationships and the ability to influence people at all levels both within and beyond the organisation Experience of working with a range of stakeholders from different organisations and at all levels of seniority Experience of leading stakeholders to meet defined expectations for productivity, quality, and goal accomplishment.
