Data is our product and the role we have on offer is absolutely central to shaping what the company does. Your key responsibilities: Solve mathematical and statistical problems involving the processing of very large datasets. Develop high quality machine learning models which classify and predict behaviour of large populations. Derive value and insight from data through ground-breaking research, visualisations and analysis. Creatively solve customer led problems and drive development of new products and quality improvements. Regularly communicate your findings and new solutions to technical and non-technical audiences, including customers. Create and maintain good working relationships with different functional teams, enabling easy collaboration between science and engineering. Keep up-to-date with developments in data science through dedicated weekly time for learning, side projects and personal development. Pioneer the use of emerging technology to ensure best practice within the business. Your key qualities: Required: Demonstrable proficiency in Python programming, preferably geared towards data analysis and algorithm development. Strong grasp of data science concepts with emphasis on machine learning techniques. A creative and inquiring mind with considerable problem solving ability. Knowledge of Big Data techniques and experience manipulating large datasets. Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical work to diverse audiences. A degree in a subject with significant statistical or mathematical content or demonstrable technical strength through experience. Highly desirable: Experience applying machine learning to real world problems. Experience accessing and processing data in AWS. Able to use SQL effectively and write efficient queries for large datasets. Able to prioritise, adapt and work effectively on multiple projects concurrently. Understanding of how to create effective visualisations of data. Would help: Experience working with software engineering teams and associated tooling, especially git and Docker. Experience building basic apps and visualization tools with frameworks such as Django or Flask. The problems we solve are groundbreaking and present unique and exciting challenges.
