The HR Advisor is a key member of the Human Resources Department at ILSC Education Group and will be responsible for supporting our Australian HR processes, initiatives and projects. Reporting to the Global HR Director (based in Canada), the HR Advisor will support all Australian HR functions including; facilitation of recruitment initiatives, onboarding, HR policy and HR & Award compliance, performance management, HR training, employee relations support including investigations, off boarding and HR reporting. The HR Advisor can be centrally located from any one of our Australian locations in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney. Duties & Responsibilities Facilitating the recruitment process in conjunction with the Hiring Manager for our Australian locations, including job postings, managing internal/external job postings, recruitment tools and Hiring Manager training where required. Preparing and issuing of employment documents in conjunction with the employee’s supervisor, including employment contracts, termination documents, general employee letters and position descriptions. Responding to employee and management queries related to local and national employment legislations, including but not limited to compliance with the Education Services (Post-Secondary Education) Award 2010 and Human Resources policies. Assisting the supervisor with responding to HR enquiries and ensuring the timely resolution of workplace grievances for both the leadership team and employees. Where applicable, participating in disciplinary and performance management processes and any other HR function necessary to ensure compliance with relevant workplace legislation in conjunction with the employee’s supervisor. Maintaining and updating local and national policies and procedures, in consultation with Australian senior leadership, as required. Supporting the maintenance of employee file records, including performing file audits to ensure that all required employee documentation is collected, accurate and maintained. Supporting the payroll department, including supporting employee onboarding and offboarding processes, as required. Completing termination paperwork and assisting with employee exit interviews. Maintaining and updating ILSC’s internal HR site, including maintenance of ILSC’s organizational charts. Maintaining and revising local and national HR policy, where applicable. Supporting employee engagement and retention projects such as rewards & recognition programs. Supporting internal HR projects to strengthen teamwork and company culture. Adhering to company and legislated confidentiality and privacy regulations. Some travel will be required. Additional job-related projects and duties as required. Education & Experience Requirements Minimum three years previous experience in an HR Advisor role is required, preferably working independently in an HR capacity. Hands-on experience across end-to-end HR cycle including recruitment, WHS, performance management & writing policies and procedures. Post-secondary education in Human Resource Management is required. Thorough understanding of Australian employment legislation, including the Modern Award and Fair Work Australia. A combination of education/experience may be considered if directly related to the position.
