Graduate Project Consultant (Building Services Engineering)IES LTD - Glasgow, Glasgow The Role IES offers unparalleled opportunities to build and progress a career in building simulation and to develop both personally and professionally. Perhaps you are about to graduate or have already have some work experience. We can offer a graduate programme where you’ll be exposed to a variety of different tasks to give you a broad experience. You will be responsible for modelling complex projects. You will build detailed models, run simulations of building and mechanical system design alternatives, and advise clients on the results of those simulations. You will have the opportunity to work on challenging, high-profile projects and will be given the encouragement and support to challenge yourself and develop your career, as part of a unique team of building simulation consultants. The Candidate We are looking for enthusiastic engineering graduates who are keen to develop their career with a company that is at the forefront of building simulation technology. The successful candidates will research and advise on energy usage within buildings, they will also establish control systems in order to monitor operational efficiency and performance of materials and buildings. Skills include the following: Educated to degree level in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g. building services engineering, architectural engineering or energy engineering) Clear and confident communications skills Knowledge of HVAC systems, controls and/or modelling of systems is desirable Experience of using building simulation software or related software tools is desirable (e.g. CAD, energy modelling, loads analysis, daylight modelling, solar modelling, HVAC design tools) Experience with the IES Virtual Environment software will be a distinct advantage, but is not essential Knowledge of BREEAM, LEED and building commissioning is desirable.
