Job Description Here's how we work: Join one of the largest architectural firms in the world, while retaining the chance to work in a boutique style team on some of the highest profile jobs in Toronto. We are currently looking for an intermediate Intern Architect or Architect to join our Toronto practice to work with our high-rise residential and institutional projects. The successful candidate will ideally offer experience being involved in projects end to end along with strong production side experience (working drawings) – this will be imperative. You will have hands-on experience with detailed drawings, strong ability to project manage/coordinate along with strong interpersonal skills to further develop relationships with clients and other consultants. Furthermore, you will be someone who has a keen eye for detail, a strong critical thinker, and someone who enjoys tackling new challenges and opportunities. Check out some of our award-winning projects here: https://www.ibigroup.com/projects/?&tags=high%20rise%20residential, Most of the things you'll work on: Prepare working drawings for all projects Responsible for the creation of technical content to the highest standard of excellence while ensuring the design intent is consistently maintained throughout the project You will work closely with the Project Manager to coordinate with other staff members as well as coordinating all aspects of the project with the Mechanical, Electrical and Structural consultants Mentor technicians and help resolve difficult operating tasks or drawing production problems Keeping up to date on construction practices, products, codes and technology Work with Contract Administration Department in processing project Shop Drawings and administrative paperwork. Qualifications You'll need to have: Minimum University Degree in Architecture 4-6 years of related experience MUST have hands-on experience with AutoCAD; Revit experience is an asset MUST have high proficiency in developing architectural drawing packages and knowledgeable with detailing is expected MUST know OBC (Ontario Building Code) Current OAA member as an Intern Architect or Architect Prior high-rise residential experience is an asset MUST have strong communication skills – both written and verbal Strong project coordination experience and ability to manage competing deadlines Strong ability to work within a team environment and be able to take instruction A great roll-up-you-sleeves attitude where no task is too big nor too small, great critical thinking skills with an ability to think outside the box and pose intelligent and thought-provoking questions when necessary.
