Job requirements Minimum three years of documented experience in a similar position is desirable; Skilled in working with Aveva Marine, adaptability to using new software; Specific responsibilities Designs and prepares the plan using CADD software (working with Aveva Marine – mandatory/ other equivalent software – desirable); Produces effective ship/ block/ product designs by using their understanding of engineering and manufacturing techniques; Adds structural details to the plans, based on their knowledge of manufacturing/ building techniques; Prepares multiple versions of designs, for review by engineers and naval architects; Specifies dimensions, materials and procedures for new building projects or products; Is directly involved in the Detailed Design process: coordinates and models hull specifications, strengthening elements, in accordance with the naval architects calculations, designs the execution drawings (for manufacturing and installation), generates bill of materials; Develops sectional and waterline curves of the hull to establish the center of gravity, designs the ideal hull form and gathers data on buoyancy and stability.
