We are looking for a full time Design & IoT Engineer that has a strong foundation in refrigeration design and performance. The position of Design and IoT Engineer operates within the New Product Development Cell of the Engineering profit stream and reports to the Product Development Manager. The Engineering profit stream is the design, innovation and compliance arm of Hussmann Oceania Operations consisting of cells including New Technology Development, New Product Development and Sustaining. It is responsible for product and technology design to the Hussmann Oceania Group, other contractors and end users. Allowing Hussmann Oceania to meet its corporate strategy, innovating climate solutions for a better future. We seek a candidate that has a strong foundation in heat transfer and refrigeration system design, performance analysis, modelling, testing, and regulatory compliance. And develops innovative and cutting-edge technologies ensuring Hussmann products fulfil relevant performance requirements and are delivered to satisfy the needs of the commercial refrigeration and climate technology sectors. Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities: designs complex refrigeration systems and integrates control electronics to advance the product and its performance designs condition-based monitoring systems and integrates IoT solutions for commercial refrigeration Identify and develop algorithm to support open integration IoT devices and controllers develops interactive 3D publications of new products for both offline and online web applications designs technical illustrations and cloud publishing including cloud-based catalogues supports thermal performance and energy modelling (CFD/CHT, heat exchanger design/selection, integrated HVAC&R modelling) to leverage on gaining conceptual insights and scale down duration and effort put in new product/technology development supports test planning, set up, program development, execution and report to ensure products meet regulatory and compliance requirements of refrigerated display cabinet and refrigeration technologies supports the introduction, design, integration, and test and validation (T&V) of cutting-edge technologies, innovative energy efficiency and sustainability concepts in refrigerated display and storage cabinets, commercial refrigeration systems, and climate technologies supports the life cycle of new product/technology development, the project planning, and justification, scoping, gating, test, and validation (T&V) and successful product launching provides drafting expertise in product design, sheet metal fabrication, installation and assembly management of projects allocated to different design teams located in different countries investigation, evaluation, design, maintenance, administration and support of mock-ups, prototypes and new product directs and coordinates manufacturing or building or prototype/mock up products confers with operational personnel to clarify or resolve problems and develop designs applies Lean and Six Sigma principles in new product design and manufacturing analyses product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine designs, which can be produced by existing and emerging manufacturing or processing facilities and methods provides solutions to complex customer problems determines the feasibility of designing new products, equipment and modifying existing considering costs, available space, time limitations, company planning and other technical and economic factors produces 3D models and prepares or directs preparation of product or system layout and detailed drawings and schematics provides specification reviews, engineering, drafting, revision of products & materials to meet design specification and Australian standards manages and prepares product documentation, assembly manuals, work instructions and bill of materials Essential a proven record of at least minimum two years of experience in refrigeration design and manufacturing prior experience working in multi-disciplinary design and engineering bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical / Mechatronic engineering or related field that is recognized by the Institute of Engineers Australia master’s degree in project management with excellent project management skills and the ability to plan, schedule, co-ordinate and solve problem strong knowledge of Australian refrigeration manufacturing standards, compliance and product testing strong knowledge of OH&S requirements including Safety in Design qualification in Lean Six Sigma or lean manufacturing knowledge of refrigeration controllers and programming logic strong engineering and design skills with a high degree of technical competence and ability to develop solutions strong 3D modelling skills with in-depth knowledge of Solid Edge 3D CAD software and Cortona 3D proficient in C, Python, AutoCAD, Keyshot, Coil Designer and Siemens PLC programming attention to details excellent verbal and written communication skills candidate must have full official right to live and work in Australia Job Type: Full-time Salary: $95,000.00 to $100,000.00 /year Work Eligibility: The candidate can work permanently with no restriction on hours (Preferred)
