In order for Huron Tractor to develop the best, we offer the following: · Great training opportunities through John Deere, as well as internal training · Competitive compensation · Bonus Programs · Excellent team environments with a Social Committee that plans great events Job Responsibilities · Gathers, analyzes and prepares data for financial reports which may involve the application of advanced principles of accounting. · Prepares journal entries and account reconciliations and analyses for both month-end and year-end closing. · Reconcile and analyze trial balance accounts monthly, review reconciliations prepared by others, and promptly research and correct any variances · Maintain books and records in accordance with department policies and procedures and GAAP · Identify exceptions and problems affecting accounting records, communicate same to management, and assist in their resolution · Ensures compliance with internal controls · Prepare clear, complete and accurate accounting reports and working papers with high attention to detail · Prepares working papers for the annual financial statement audit and annual tax returns. · Prepares and files various tax and regulatory reporting as required. · Assists with payroll preparation and submission and compliance · Assists Controller with a variety of other tasks, as needed. Required Skills and Qualifications · 3+ years related work experience · Completion of college or university program in accounting, finance or related field · Knowledge of ASPE, corporate tax, payroll tax and commodity tax · Payroll processing experience an asset · Demonstrate critical thinking and analytical skills · Competent at analyzing data and drawing logical conclusions · Possesses exceptional organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage time and to multi-task in a deadline-oriented environment · Advanced Microsoft Excel skills This is to cover a maternity leave and will be a 14-month contract position.
