But if this, or our other ad/s, sounds like you then get in touch, because we'd love to hear from you. The Senior Developer role is an experienced hands-on technology leader and influencer. This is a client-facing role, promoting ideas, governance and best practice across multiple project/s within the Hoonartek Ab Initio development factory and our client’s business. It will include regular liaison and relationship building with solution and enterprise architects, DBA’s, senior developers, program managers and OS admin. To succeed, you’ll need demonstrable technical competency in Ab Initio and associative technologies and the confidence to deliver it effectively, combined with a mature and out-going personality to enable you to build relationships and trust amongst colleagues and client personnel. The role fits within Hoonartek’s Ab Initio Development Factory, a multi-shore entity created to optimise the quality and productivity of Ab Initio development for our client. The Technical Lead will work closely with Hoonartek’s CTO and technical & project management personnel to advise and opine on all relevant Ab Initio technical and operational matters. The role is regarded as pivotal in helping Hoonartek to maintain and grow a key client account. As such we are seeking someone who combines experience and maturity with excellent communication and people skills; a confident person who’s comfortable taking the lead, with a commitment to quality and client satisfaction and a dynamic, can-do approach to his/her work. Technology Leadership a. Review business requirements and conceptual solutions to produce technical specifications and solution approaches. b. Analyse enterprise data challenges and clearly articulate how those challenges can be met in a technically elegant and cost-efficient manner. c. Conduct review sessions of artefacts, requirements, code and other related information. d. Provide technical leadership for issue resolution, tool / code / environment / database matters. e. Work with our Development Factory Lead and PM to provide WBS and delivery planning of various program streams, including effort estimation of various technical pieces of work f. Accountability for work product/s assigned to you, executing work assignments, team planning and other key needs as appropriate. g. Act as SPOC and execute/resolve with client personnel where appropriate. h. Contribute to reports for Hoonartek management and client as required, ensuring milestone tracking and SLA adherence for all services and deliverables. i. Participate in company knowledge management and innovation related initiatives. People Leadership a. Coach and mentor new employees where necessary providing capability assessment and development, undertaking workshops and other programs for team building and knowledge sharing. b. Contribute to Hoonartek management and success as appropriate, including but not limited to account and project planning, relationship management, networking, talent identification and vetting, opportunity identification and development. Skills, Capabilities & Characteristics a. Degree level qualification. b. Excellent knowledge of architecting, designing, developing & deploying enterprise-scale, data-centric solutions c. Experienced in delivering solutions via Agile, SCRUM and DevOps. d. Knowledge of Ab Initio architecture and design from software & application points of view e. Good knowledge of the following products from core products Ab Initio and others i. Ab Initio : GDE, Conduct >It, Control >Center, EME TRMC, Metadata Hub, Co >Operating System, ICFF, DQE, Query >IT, Express >IT, etc. ii. SDLC: Environment management, QA process, Reviews and checklists, lineage, promotions, backup and recovery, Data Governance iii. Others: Unix, Mainframes, DBMS, Scheduling, Change Mgmt, Incident Mgmt,Big data, reporting & analytical tools, machine learning and cloud f. BFSI domain knowledge is a distinct advantage g. Excellent communication skills, speaking and listening, are essential. h. Broad familiarity of the entire IT landscape and tool-scape. i. Agile and creative thinker j. Ability to remain focused and to work under pressure. k. Planning and estimating from requirements/change requests l. High personal integrity, discretion and ethics.
