Midstream Facilities Development Engineer Position Summary The Facilities Development Engineer is a position within Hess Midstream that will identify Infrastructure requirements and develop cost-effective capital projects to gather, transport and process oil, gas and water in the Bakken. Working closely with Midstream Infrastructure, Commercial and Operations teams, this position will take projects through the critical front-end loading portion of the asset delivery process. Focus will be on identifying long-term development plans and associated fast-paced projects that achieve Midstream objectives including cost, schedule, and risk management. The Facilities Development engineer will also contribute as a team member to evaluating and improving Midstream project processes. Responsibilities Contributing to the development of short and long term gathering, transporting, and processing infrastructure plans Framing the business and technical requirements of projects Developing a project’s justification, feasibility, schedule and risks Identifying broad ranges of alternatives leading to optimal concept selection Identifying project scope and high-level construction execution plans, facilitating economic analysis, early project permitting and long lead equipment procurement Incorporating aggressive but realistic cost and schedule estimates into project planning Coordinating activities of an integrated project team including representatives from commercial, engineering, operations, environmental and safety. Taking the lead role in preparing decision support packages and presenting projects to management for sanction The successful candidate will: Demonstrate adaptability and quick learning Be capable of managing multiple assignments and projects in a fast-paced environment Build collaborative relationships with co-workers and stakeholders Communicate professionally, written and oral Impart a positive attitude with developed interpersonal skills to resolve issues and challenges Exercise professional judgment in assessing risk Drive for results in potentially ambiguous environments Be knowledgeable of project management practices, industry design codes/ practices and process safety Qualifications Required: Bachelor's Degree or higher in Chemical Engineering 5 or more years of experience in the oil and gas industry 2 or more years of experience in project development, project engineering or project management Competencies The Hess Way of Working refers to competencies considered pre-requisites for success and advancement.
