The VP of Engineering will be responsible for guiding the technical and people vision for Embed and Booking Boss through key technical decisions, development and deployment. You will have experience building technical teams, scaling management teams and driving their success. They should have previously demonstrated success as the leader of a dynamic passionate team who loves to code and delight customers. The team’s work ranges across customer facing applications, platforms and data science. You’ll also be expected to play a key role in understanding Embed and Booking Boss’s broader strategies, priorities and values and communicating them locally. Key Responsibilities: Able to lead premier projects, managing and defining resources to meet those deliverables Identify high-reaching services and opportunities for innovation Assess marketplace obstacles and technical hurdles for success Establish strong cross countries, sub-regional co-operation Establish efficient business processes to enable delivery of large and complex cross-countries/region projects Formulate long-term objectives and standards of performance for the department Assure that the team achieves objectives within budget and time frame Ensure implementation and subsequent refinement is a mandatory stage in the development cycle to support product development process Ensure that product development is focused on meeting and exceeding the customer requirements Provide leadership with a technology focus on operating system and act as a subject matter expert in desktop platform. Provide leadership with a technology focus on migrating to the cloud Provide technical guidance to the team that comprises of vendor resources in platform technologies including Windows, MacOS, Android and iOS, and ensure effective operation of the desktop environment (VDIs, laptops, desktops) and Microsoft Office suites. Deliver platform and desktop related projects with timely reports and updates the CTO Responsible for the desktop and web environment lifecycle and roadmap, including the inception, through engineering design and procurement, to service and disposal. Responsible for support and maintenance of all desktop components and environment. Proactively develop, support and manage the desktop environment including creation of patching schedules and technology refresh. Act as a subject matter expert in Windows desktop and Microsoft Office. Work closely with infrastructure teams, end users experience team, application teams and security team to ensure operational excellence. Drive quality solutions and outcomes through a continuous improvement mind-set. Hands-on Technical Expertise on (Java & JVM) or (ReactJs) Appreciation of UI/UX Design and ensure that such design are of the highest standards for customers Required Experience: Minimum of at least 10 years in IT / Software Engineering with a minimum of 3+ years in a comparable leadership position Ability to interpret technology and market trends as a foundation for roadmaps Experience in building and leading technical and non-technical staff driving their success through thought leadership Technical expertise in web systems architecture, design and development Experience delivering web – based or SaaS products Significant leadership experience with a track record of success in a fast-paced,quick-changing, start-up company running resources and meeting strict deadlines Give, and in some cases lead training, recruiting, performance management and knowledge management efforts Excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and a strong sense of tact in all interactions Highly skilled in recognizing high potential talent, hiring staff and providing inspiration and mentorship throughout the team Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Qualifications / Education Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Engineering or equivalent
