We have one of the most extensive search and rescue networks protecting offshore oil and gas workers worldwide. We also provide around the clock rapid response SAR capabilities for customers such as the Irish Coast Guard and the Royal Australian Air Force. This is an excellent opportunity to join CHC Ireland DAC, who operate the Search and Rescue Service for Ireland on behalf of the Irish Coast Guard, as Manager Crew Training. In this role we are looking for an individual who can demonstrate leadership qualities that contribute towards a flexible, collaborative, agile and successful team. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to do something that’s above and beyond what’s expected, question old solutions, working in collaboration with colleagues to deliver a world class service to CHC and its customers. The Manager Crew Training (MCT) is the Nominated position for the Irish AOC with responsibility for the Flight Training Department, ensuring the CHC standard and the safe training operations of their pilots and Technical Crew members. The MCT is also responsible to the Irish Aviation Authority (IAA) for ensuring that training operations are carried out to the regulatory standards required. Key Responsibilities: The position of MCT is IRE based and is part of the CHC Ireland DAC Management Team. The MCT will have direct management responsibility for all LTC’s, TRI’s and TRE’s in the Irish AOC. The MCT must be acceptable to the IAA as ‘Nominated Person Crew Training’. The MCT reports directly to the Accountable Manager (CHC IRE DAC) and in the matrix organization to the Senior Manager Operations (IRE), and Head of Flight Training. The MCT is responsible for: Establishing and maintaining a training system appropriate to the company's operational needs, with safety of company operations the first priority. Driving implementation and adherence of the CHC harmonized flight operations standards and procedures within CHCI. Ensuring a high standard of training and testing is maintained according to OM Part A, B, C, D, F, and G. The monitoring and maintenance of flight crew training through regular observation and appraisal in the training and examining role. Ensuring training programs are arranged for efficient and cost effective use of aircraft, simulators, training facilities and training manpower according to the requirements of the operations manual. Consistent with the above, setting flight crew proficiency standards at the highest level appropriate to the safety of line operations in close liaison with other MCT’s and under supervision of the Head of Flight Training Meeting the requirements of relevant regulations as appropriate at all times so far as they relate to training, testing and checking of flight crew. Maintaining active and positive dialogue with regulatory agencies ensuring acceptable standards and business continuity. The content and IAA approval of the worldwide harmonized Company OM Part D. Development of staff management capability through career development discussions and supported with performance appraisals in accordance with company policy. Ensuring that activities within the training department are carried out according to established SMS principles in the Company. Overseeing the coordination and implementation of QMS/LMS/EGS system and associated pilot record management ensuring audit readiness and compliance with OMD requirements. Working closely with outside resources for the delivery of training Maintaining active and positive dialogue with regulatory agencies (IAA) and customers ensuring acceptable standards and business continuity Maintain in depth knowledge of relevant regulations Must be willing to fly in their AOC as required to maintain currency Must be willing to travel internationally at times with short notice All further responsibilities as outlined in the Operating Manual A Attending and participating in the Operational and Safety Review Boards. Supporting the relevant Business Units inside the CHC Ireland DAC AOC. Engaging in business development strategy and assisting the commercial department to develop well costed and operationally deliverable solutions. Qualifications, Skills & Attributes: Qualifications, Skills and Attributes Must be in possession of an ATPL (H), with ME/IR, and TRI/TRE rating. S.92 P.I.C. type rating preferred. Must be experienced in SAR, ideally AWSAR operations Proven managerial skills and organisational awareness Instructing and coaching abilities In depth knowledge of relevant regulations especially focused to the new EASA training legislation. Experience with project-orientated working methods Self-motivated and results orientated with a focus on quality training Excellent listening, verbal and written communications and presentation skills Excellent collaborative problem solving skills with an ability to envision a system wide solution Ability to work in rapidly evolving and dynamic team environment Strong interpersonal and organizational skills Ability to conduct research in course development and delivery concepts Excellent motivational skills and a positive attitude Ability to work under pressure to achieve and maintain pre-determined service levels Valid passport and ability to travel without restrictions Must be acceptable to the authorities Must have the right to live and work in Ireland The successful candidate will be an integral part of the Senior Management team in Ireland and will be required to maintain currency as a line pilot on company operations. The MCT IRE is expected to manage and work as part of a team to drive and maintain standards. The successful applicant will be expected to be flexible in their working approach to deliver training, training management, and support.
