Responsibilities Provision of legal services that support the functions, mission, programmes and activities undertaken by the HPB. This includes: Work closely with senior management to evaluate legal impact of major decisions where applicable law, regulations, or facts of the case are unclear, controversial, or conflicting. Research, prepare legal documents/agreements, negotiate with outside parties, render opinions, consult with and advise clients, and representing the company in dealing with others. Provide any other legal advisory on the Board's contractual risks/obligations Work with colleagues from other departments on contractual matters and policy formulation and provide legal guidance on legislation relevant to HPB and/or other applicable laws. Management of, and communication with external stakeholders and also, external lawyers on matters referred to them. Requirements Relevant qualifications in Law with min 3 years post qualification experience (PQE) gained in-house or in private practice. Able to understand and anticipate the influences of the external environment e.g. Acts/Regulations, emerging issues on the agency’s work Experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts, and advising on contractual risks/obligations Experience in rendering legal advice on regulatory matters, public law and intellectual property preferred Sound judgement and ability to analyse situations and information Strong business acumen and good legal research skills Self-starter and able to work well independently as well as in a team
