Overview Under the supervision of the Director of Health Informatics, the Health Informatics Training Coordinator responsible for planning, designing, developing and implementing a training program for the agency’s Electronic Health Record (EHR) / Practice Management (PM) system, as well as other information systems that Health Informatics supports. This role coordinates with the agency Training Coordinator to ensure that new hires properly trained in the EHR. Key Role Responsibilities In coordination with the agency Training Coordinator, identify technical training requirements; develop and maintain a technical training plan in support of organizational strategic and immediate operations objectives Serve as the auxiliary support for the Informatics Applications Administrator to update EHR changes and to develop an expert understanding of all the health information systems that need support and maintain documentation of these systems Develop standardized training materials, including but not limited to presentations, hand-outs, training aids, etc. Stay abreast of EHR application changes and new functionalities for inclusion in training curricula Communicate with managers to identify training needs for departments and individuals relating to the EHR and other relevant health applications Conduct organization-wide training needs assessment and identify skills or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed Assess instructional effectiveness and determine the impact of training on employee skills and KPIs Gather feedback from trainers and trainees after each session and use feedback to constantly improve training curricula Observe industry standards and enable best practices Assist the Applications Administrator, aid in form and report development Work closely with Informatics department members to understand reporting and systems responsibilities in order to provide support when needed Key Agency Responsibilities In addition to role responsibilities, each staff member of Health Care for the Homeless has the following responsibilities as a part of their employment: Models and reinforces the Health Care for the Homeless “core values” of dignity, authenticity, hope, justice, passion and balance Actively participates in performance improvement activities and actively participates in advocacy activities that support the mission of Health Care for the Homeless Performs other duties on an as-needed basis Protects our clients’ personal health information by maintaining compliance with HIPAA and other relevant health care related IT security regulations Knowledge, Experience, and Skills Formal Education and Training Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Training, Human Resources, Business or related field Alternatively, an equivalent combination of technical training and experience may be considered Experience 2 years’ experience working within a health care setting 2 years’ experience as a trainer, peer educator, team leader, or related experience 2 years’ project management experience that demonstrates a track record of working with multiple simultaneous projects on differing timelines Skills Demonstrate the ability to comfortably speak in front of multiple disciplinary groups of people of various sizes from new-hire orientation sessions to organization-wide presentations or conferences Excellent listening, problem solving, conflict management, critical thinking skills Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to use plain language when discussing complex technical topics Ability to develop training curricula for in-person and/or web use, with a sophisticated understanding of how to successfully teach adults with different learning styles Exhibit a flexible and collaborative approach Demonstrate the ability to use known education principles and research and recommend new training methods Demonstrate the organizational and technical skills to maintain updated curricula database and training records Demonstrate knowledge and skills to host train-the-trainer sessions to promote internal subject matter experts Have a strong working knowledge of HIPAA Privacy and Security requirements Have a proven track record of producing quality deliverables on time, taking ownership and accountability of assignments and demonstrating a strong work ethic Department: Health Informatics Reports To: Director of Health Informatics Job Family: Quality Improvement FLSA Status: Exempt Supervisor: No Job Type: Full-time Salary: $42,000.00 to $55,000.00 /year Experience: trainer, peer educator, team leader, or related: 2 years (Required) working within a health care setting: 2 years (Required) project management: 2 years (Required) Education: Bachelor's (Preferred) Work authorization: United States (Required) Work Location: One location Benefits: Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Retirement plan Paid time off Parental leave Professional development assistance Tuition reimbursement Other This Job Is: A job for which military experienced candidates are encouraged to apply A “Fair Chance” job (you or the employer follow Fair Chance hiring practices when performing background checks -
