Assistant Store Manager - Ashford Designer Outlet Purpose of the Role: Deliver Haribo store targets; through the execution of Haribo customer service, retail and operational standards. Deputise for the Store Manager in their absence. Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities: Customer Service o Deliver the Haribo standards of customer service o Approach and engage customers; assist in their selection, applying product knowledge and making purchase recommendations o Sampling activities in and out of store Retail Standards o Deliver the Haribo standards of retail excellence o Ensure Haribo retail standards are maintained at the beginning and throughout the day. o Products are correctly replenished, displayed and priced o Promotional items and offers are visible to customers and actively sold o Undertake daily cleaning duties within the store o Understand current performance across the store and market place and ensure team are briefed on current actions to improve performance Operational Standards o Deliver the Haribo standards of operational excellence o Stock is replenished, counted, rotated and recorded correctly o Comply with company standards in Health & Safety, providing a safe environment for colleagues and customers o Understand and comply with the requirements of the Environmental Management System (EMS) and the Environmental Permit as part of day to day activities o Complete food hygiene and handling training, ensure all food hygiene processes are followed and records completed o Responsible for the end to end stock management; managing stock levels, safety stock, submitting store orders and managing the stock delivery process o Plan, prepare and conduct stock takes Cash Handling and Management o Cash up of all store tills and end of day cash returns to the safe o Receiving cash and change to the store o Reporting any discrepancies to the store management team o Complete procedures in order to open and close the store safely People Management o Conduct weekly staff briefings – information and sales performance o Liaison for head office team o Liaison for the centre management team and external suppliers o Plan store activity, events and promotions in order to drive sales. Brief, measure success and reporting o Staff planning – Ensure staff rotas are completed accurately o Staff recruitment – Advertising roles, screening CVs and complete 1st stage interviews o Support and motivate the store team, role model behaviour o Identify training needs across the team and plan training accordingly o Induct new team members on joining Experience and skill requirements Past experience in retail store management ideally within food (confectionery is preferred but not essential) or FMCG Minimum 2-3 GCSE or equivalent qualification in a related field Excellent organisational skills Be disciplined, proactive and adaptable Display strong interpersonal skills with all stakeholders Strong negotiation / sales skills Ability to understand situations of conflict and manage emotions in front of customers and colleagues Good oral and written communication skills Sound knowledge and respect of Hygiene, Security and Environmental rules & procedures, particularly in relation to food Flexibility to change shifts at short notice to cover store opening hours is essential Experience of stock management procedures People Management experience essential Some UK travel will be required within this role, therefore a driving license is essential
