A vacancy has arisen for a Mitigant Supervisor, to join our team at Drax. The Mitigant Supervisor role exists to deploy & supervise the shift team at the mitigant process areas and provide a safety kick off. Hargreaves Industrial Services provide a varied Operations and Maintenance service to our client at Drax Power Station. We handle, maintain and reclaim materials including FBA, Coal and Mitigant Slurry whilst managing material stocks and transportation using a wide range of Mobile Plant. The role briefly encompasses the following duties: - · Liaise with Drax & Hargreaves site management regarding materials handling requirements · Deploy shift team in accordance with operational requirements · Provide shift team with the information regarding their shift duties · Liaise with supervisors / managers at the start of each shift on current plant status · Liaise with supervisors / managers at the start of each shift on current staff issues · Inspect plant areas · Carry out safety audits in line with agreed targets · Record details of all shift events · Promote hazard reporting within the teams · Manage hazards reported within area of control & liaise with supervisor / manager for hazard control or removal · Deliver safety tool-box talks & other site safety information to the team & return signed acknowledgements · Manage all aspects of plant area housekeeping delegated to shift team in line with agreed targets · Drive site vehicles in line with site rules & procedures · Operate the Mitigant Processing plants · Complete regular inspections of the plant and pipework & report any defects, blockages etc. · Carry out any other reasonable instruction required to ensure the smooth operation of the site as directed by supervisor / manager · Complete all associated check sheets for both mobile & static plant The ideal candidate will possess the following skills/experience/ attributes: - · Positive attitude to safety · Lead by example · ECITB or EMSS safety passport or equivalent · Site safety induction training · Hargreaves safety induction training · Participate in hazard reporting · Comply with Drax Power safety rules, Golden rules & procedures · Risk assessment training · Manual handling training · COSHH awareness training · Harness training · Firefighting training · Clean shaven · Face fit dust mask tested · Competent · Flexible approach to work · Excellent attitude towards Health & Safety · Proven leader with good communication skills · A strong team player · Work well on their own with minimum supervision · Good time keeper and willing to work overtime as necessary · Tolerant of diverse personalities · Tolerant of diverse working situations & conditions · A good fit with the Hargreaves Industrial Services culture Essential · IOSH managing safety or equivalent · STOP behavioural auditor · Materials handling operations experience · Manual handling · Competent person within Drax Power safety & Golden rules · Ability to fault find problems & act upon Desirable · Working with pumps · Working with pressurised systems · Harness trained · Cherry picker trained · Forklift trained What we do: As an established contract management Company, Hargreaves Industrial Services provides high standard, professional services to our clients within the power, port, steel, rail and other industrial sectors both within the UK and abroad.
