An exciting time for Blackburn, this prominent hotel sits on Frontier Park, Blackburn within the East Lancashire region and is within a swift commute of Preston, Leeds and Manchester. Hampton offers moderately priced accommodation for any occasion with a complimentary breakfast every stay. Hampton by Hilton Blackburn will boast 150 guest bedrooms, adding significant investment to the local area. In addition, the hotel will offer food and beverage to guests and a comfortable lounge for both the leisure and business guest to enjoy. The Role We are seeking a Finance Manager to join our senior team and report directly to the General Manager. The individual will fulfill a 30 hour contract. Ideally this individual comes with experience within a branded or hospitality environment with experience in the Finance function. We are seeking an individual who thrives in a diverse and generalist role within an open plan office environment. You will be accustomed to a hands-on approach and liaising closely with the senior management team. The Finance Manager will endeavor to meet and exceed guest and stakeholder expectations. This role will commence employment approximately six months prior to the hotel’s opening. You will have a generalist finance background which will enable you to manage the varied day to day demands of the role. The successful candidate will report directly into the hotel’s General Manager and will have the support from the Regional Finance Manager. We are seeking a candidate who is self-motivated, disciplined and able to influence change and action. You will spearhead a variety of Finance Management processes including setting financial SOP’s and processes. Once the hotel is open you control an array of areas for the property including daily wage control, forecasting and assisting the General Manager in cost control and achieving the hotel’s key finance metrics and budget. You will carry out ongoing daily responsibilities including credit control, banking and other duties. The hotel will have approximately 20 employees and will resource housekeeping via an external provider. This role will have ongoing communications and relations with the Company’s central team, specifically with the Regional Finance Manager. They will be supported by the central resource team who are available on a hands-on and advisory capacity. Key Responsibilities -A self-accounting position, accountable in conjunction with the General Manager for the hotel’s financial performance. -Managing the accounts for the hotel; cash flow, balance sheet, reconciliation. -Production of the P&L statement. -Maintain effective control systems to ensure all revenues and expenditures are correctly recorded. Ensure all Company controls and SOP’s are in place and adhered to by the team. -Forecasting duties and attendance on a weekly call with the Company’s central office team and Regional Finance Manager. -Supporting in the annual budgeting process, supporting the business to effectively achieve results. -Daily wage control ensuring all rotas are produced and costed accurately. -Monitoring the correct billing and revenues and cash control. -Credit control duties. Skills and attributes required: · Ideally the candidate is from a branded hotel or hospitality environment. Passionate about guests and people centered environment. · Previous account management experience required. Ideally within a management position or team leader role. · The confidence and ability to challenge the status quo and internal decision making. A natural leader, coach and mentor.
