The Guardant Health Oncology Platform leverages capabilities to drive commercial adoption, improve patient clinical outcomes and lower healthcare costs across all stages of the cancer care continuum. Guardant Health has launched liquid biopsy-based Guardant360 and GuardantOMNI tests for advanced stage cancer patients and LUNAR assay for research use and for use in prospective clinical trials. In parallel, Guardant Health is actively exploring the performance of the LUNAR assay in initial studies related to screening and early detection in asymptomatic individuals. This position is responsible for growing our market presence in Brazil and the LATAM region. About You You are an established business leader who can leverage their sales, marketing, clinical, access and partner management skills to develop and increase Guardant Health’s business and drive revenue in the region. You have a distinguished track record of establishing, training and motivating customers and channel partners to deliver significant business growth. You have an extensive network of contacts including experts in genomics, personalized medicine and oncology and are adept at engaging leading clinicians and policy makers to support your commercial, clinical and reimbursement goals. Your scientific knowledge enables you to deliver technical presentations to customers and engage with leading clinicans to further develop the evidence base for Guardant’s services. You have experience with regional strategy planning and delivering annual tactical plans for the LATAM region You have experience working effectively with international teams and with cross-functional teams to ensure project execution and smooth operations in a variety of countries Responsibilities for Commercial Director Develop the vision, objectives and overall international market entry strategy for Brazil and selected other countries in South and Central America in partnership with the Guardant management team. Develop and execute operational plans to drive market access and business growth. Manage contracts, revenue, margins and expense goals for the region. Quickly identify a set of priority opportunities and move fast to capitalise on them and demonstrate success. Work with established channel partners to develop and execute effective multi-channel marketing mix to launch/increase commercial volume in selected countries Identify new channel partners and work with global and regional colleagues to establish relationships and operationalize parterships effectively. Identify and develop advocates and work in partnership with them to achieve market access and clinical adoption goals Prepare and submit dossiers for technology assessment and service reimbursement Collaborate with global and regional colleagues to develop the internal structures and processes necessary to support business growth Create competitive advantage by understanding and addressing customer needs; evaluating competitor strategies; identifying and solving problems; and leveraging product, service and clinical evidence strengths Partner with regional management and global finance to manage financial aspects of the international business including budgeting, forecasting, billing and collections. Develop and maintain strategic alliances and high-level relations with key stakeholders including: industry, government, health systems, health technology assessment bodies, patient groups, academia and thought leaders Serve serving as a key member of the regional management team, ensuring South American market needs and objectives are represented and met Partner with BioPharma Business Development team to identify and expand commercial opportunities with Pharma & Biotech companies in the LATAM region. Be a passionate and effective advocate for the clinical use of genomics in cancer and drive transformation of cancer care to incorporate advanced diagnostic profiling Embody the organisation’s values to serve as a role model for the international team Qualifications and Experience: Degree in a scientific field of study BS, MS, Ph.D., closely related to genetics, genomics, and molecular biology strongly preferred. An advanced degree in a relevant discipline is also a significant advantage. Minimum of 8 to 10 years years of healthcare experience in the diagnostic, pharmaceutical, or biotech industries including clinical sales, business development and / or medical affairs Existing broad network of clinical and payer relationships in oncology (lung, colon, GI cancers) within the country. In depth knowledge of precision oncology, molecularly targeted therapies, genomic alterations in different cancers, comprehensive genomic profiling and liquid biopsy through continuous and self-directed learning Results oriented, self-starter with superior interpersonal communication and presentation skills, excellent sales skills including listening, negotiating, and closing deals. Open and flexible, eager to work in a team, enthusiastic and interested in sharing experiences and thoughts to achieve the company’s goals. Strict adherence to relevant national codes of practice, company SOPs, laws and regulations. Strong problem-solving skills, good attention to detail, time management skills and personal initiative. Outstanding oral presentation skills with fluency in English, Spanish and Portuguese Highly developed written skills, the ability to produce documents for dissemination both inside and outside the organization for presentations, technical briefs and scientific publications. Extensive travel in and between countries to visit client sites and attend business meetings, training and other company and customer events in the international region. Previous experience growing and leading an international team in Brazil for a US based company High level of flexibility, adaptability and international work experience required, accustomed to work in fast-paced environment.
