JOB SUMMARY: This individual is responsible for many areas of medical billing. These responsibilities include medical claims resolution, correcting and submitting rejected claims, claim appeals, review claims for errors and missing information, regularly reviews all bulletins, correspondences and updates from insurance carriers, verifies insurance coverage and benefits, bad debt collecting, charge entry, and the resolution of patient inquiries by phone. Two years of experience working in insurance/billing is required. ESSENTIAL SKILLS: Excellent communication skills, written and oral Strong organization skills with attention to detail Demonstrates ability to meet important deadlines Has strong customer service, organizational and multitasking skills Qualified to work in a fast-paced environment Capable of working well independently, one on one or with a group Proficient in keeping detailed notes of each client and insurance interaction Able to handle confidential information and abide by HIPAA guidelines Knowledge of Medical Terminology and ICD 10 coding Computer skills Ability to sit for long periods of RESPONSIBILITIES: Work outstanding insurance claims Work insurance appeals through insurance appeal process Manage and work insurance denials Handle patient phone calls and resolve patient billing questions Charge entry Regularly review all bulletins and correspondence from insurance carriers Bad debt collection calls Processing bad debt for third party collection agency EyeCare Partners is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
