Excellent opportunity to join a rapidly growing private equity “(PE”)-backed, multi-location leading food distributor as the Senior Buyer. We are looking for a strong Buyer with food service experience to meet customer demands as well as drive improvements in the purchasing processes toward quality and shorter lead time. Essential Duties and responsibilities Explore sourcing alternatives and new products Maintains proper ordering procedures according to company policy to ensure effective inventory control to maximize sales and turnover, and to minimize over and under stock levels Communicate consistently and effectively with internal and external partners to develop and maintain programs Work closely with the team to ensure we are obtaining the right products, at the best value available, at the best cost Partner with sales and operations teams to support new product/new customer sales Work with existing and new vendors, negotiate Marketing Programs Act as a liaison to Greco customers and other departments within the company Evaluates current and prospective suppliers to determine supply capabilities, transportation logistics inventory control and management Negotiates pricing and contract terms Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Associates Degree, minimum, Bachelor’s Degree, preferred 7 or more years’ of food service-related buying experience Strong communication and negotiation skills Strong analytical and quantitative ability Demonstrated solid working knowledge of Microsoft Applications, including Word & Excel (including spreadsheets) Superior organizational skills Job Type: Full-time Experience: purchasing: 7 years (Preferred)
