Founded in 2002, Grain connects strategy with creativity across design disciplines: naming, visual identity, digital, print, packaging and environments. All of us believe that the last 10% really counts — our exacting standards match yours. Christoph Geppert is the founder, director and co-owner of Grain. He’s been exploring his gift and passion for branding and design since the mid-1990s, creating effective solutions from packaging and products to interior environments. His vast experience includes time at leading consultancies such as Pentagram, Landor, Siegel & Gale and Tom Dixon. His client list is equally impressive, featuring household names like Sandoz, United Airlines, Telefonica and Pantone. He also collaborated with Marc Newson on interior design for Qantas’ new Airbus A380 fleet. He’s built a fine reputation at Grain, working with Nokia, British Airways and Sony Playstation among others. Originally from Hannover, Germany, Christoph holds a degree in Management, Economics and Politics from the University of St Andrews in Scotland, and an MA in Industrial Design from Central Saint Martins. Madelyn Postman, director and co-owner of Grain, combines creative inspiration with business insight. She’s been helping companies communicate, beautifully, in traditional and digital media since the mid-1990s. Madelyn’s career began in Italy, spending five years as an influential creative director and production specialist at Gucci Group, where key projects included art directing the first Gucci and Sergio Rossi websites. She moved to London in 2000 and in 2002 co-founded design firm Vivian Cipolla, where her clients included Nokia and Burberry. In 2007 she established Madomat, working on projects for Sunglass Hut and Richemont before joining Grain in 2010. Madelyn hails from San Francisco and has a double major BA (Hons) in Fine Art and Art History from Brown University. She’s also fluent in Italian, having lived in Bologna for 8 years.
