About this opportunity Develop and agree a fully logic linked, resource levelled, detailed schedule for the project. Gain approval and formal sign off of the detailed programmes for commissioning by the project manager. Freeze the approved schedule as the agreed basis for control and reporting purposes. Monitor progress and update the schedule with progress, new activities and forecasts, etc. Validation of supplier programmes Produce daily status reports, revised schedules and graphical outputs. Develop scenarios for resources, working patterns and calendars etc. as required Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Preparation and Planning Set up and agree Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and ensure all costs are correctly allocated according to this model Prepare cost estimate for turnaround ‘total cost’ (fixed/variable/direct/indirect) Set up WBS and cost model to project future costs and monitor ‘actuals’ against this model Produces monthly cost reports to monitor costs Execution Ensure all costs associated with turnaround execution are captured within the cost model Provide detailed cost reports 3 times a week so that committed and forecast expenditure can be effectively controlled Vs budget Provide analysis of variations from pre-event estimates Provide trend data on productivity factors Manage a process by which emergent work costs are monitored and controlled Monitor relevant cost information to enable a final cost report to be produced Review Two weeks after the event issue a report with the forecast AFC One month later issue a final cost report Monitor costs for a 6 month period beyond the end of the turnaround to ensure all costs are correctly allocated Produce a final ‘total cost’ report for the turnaround Produce a report on the effectiveness of the cost management process and opportunities for improvement As a Gleeds team member, you will have access to: Opportunities to develop and grow your career as a training, learning and development professional 25 days holiday plus option to purchase additional days through the holiday purchase scheme Employee Assistance Programme Our global travel scholarship programme Flexible working arrangements Who we’re looking for: The position requires the candidates to work in both Gleeds and client offices and may also require being site based. You will be able to work in a Client facing role and develop relationships within the industry and have a forward-thinking approach with the ability to develop client relationships. Experience, Knowledge and Key Skills Minimum 10 years of experience in performing cost and schedule management and other project controls functions over engineering, procurement, construction components on large capital projects, preferably in the Oil and Gas, Petrochemical, Industrial and/or Power industries. Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to respond to and anticipate information needs and present that information in a clear concise manner. Experience in developing, enhancing and implementing cost and schedule standards. Experience in using and enhancing cost controls tools and associated systems. Effective analytical skills with the ability to understand detailed workflows for Engineering, Procurement, and Construction. Ability to effectively prioritize a heavy workload, bringing forward well-developed recommendations to the Project Management Team. Ability to work with low supervision and work effectively with others to achieve group results. Strong project management skills. Must be able to work with a team dispersed over multiple locations. Qualifications Bachelor`s Degree from an accredited university, preferably in Engineering or Construction Management. Completion of a Certified Cost Engineer or Project Management Professional credential (PMP) is preferred. Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and Word with proven technical writing abilities.
